Blimus - I live in a 2 bedroom, converted papermill. Originally built in 1906 and converted in the 90's. Open plan living room/ kitchen. Is not the biggest flat in the world unfortunately but was what we could afford to buy at the time.

Really need to get back into proper flying mode and also need to redecorate pretty much every room. Some are half done and need finished off:o

    Does my house win then?

I have 2 large reception rooms an average size third reception room and a huge kitchen. I have 5 bedrooms, 2 are rather large plus a fairly big landing and the obligatory bathroom and separate loo.

Average size garden out back and my big bush dominates the street out the front!! With justenough room behind it for my bins!

Flying wise.. everything takes so very very long to get done. the ceilings are 12ft high and it is a nightmare... Sometimes I long for a barratt box size house!!

  • Well that was exciting in my dull little world - you know how the Red Arrows fly straight at each other or chase each other during displays well we have just had the same type of 'dog fight' with Euro fighters right over head - couldn't actually hear the radio so DS, DD and I were out side watching - seemed like they were really close when they crossed in front of each other - looked like feet apart from the ground. they are so loud!!

right off to do 15 mins in kitchen and 15 mins in LR - see you at 2.30

Not caught up on the thread...but noticed about the houses: we live in a three bedroomed detached house in a small close, which we built (or rather OH did!) as part of a selfbuild group about 22 years ago. We are vaguely looking at moving, but I'm quite attached to this house - and as the children are now 19, 17 and 15, I guess they'll be thinking of moving on - really not sure whether to look for a bigger house and garden or not. I'd really like to have a go at a new and bigger garden.

:jOoh a self-build! That would be my dream (along with some land for a small-holding).

Oh your houses all put mine to shame. I have a insy winsy little 2 bed flat. I have a just about big enough kitchen, funny shaped living room, reasonable sized bedrooms (both big enough to be doubles although one is my DSs bedroom) an ok sized bathroom and a narrow hall. Barely enough room to swing a cat (which I do have but i am not in the habbit of swinging:o). On the plus side there is a shared garden out the back and I have my own little bit of garden out the front which comes with the flat so is all mine :D
Actually I dont make it sound great but its mine and I love it really as it the first place I ever bought (that makes it sound like I have bought others - sadly not the case) and I bought it just after turning 20. Needs a load of work doing but funds just dont allow......
