isn;t that a bit hypocritical? More likely to kill a child that way - speeding on way to hospital and therefore, less likely to be concentrating on those children playing ball at the side of the road.

Firstly, I do not direct my whole comments personally to you nor as an attack.
I am sorry if it seems this way however you knew the speed limit and still you did it, so don't you think that it's fair you take the fine and points?

I know how you must feel, although I've never had points, but these will come off in the end.

I don't agree with someone tailing me, I will go twice as slow and keep braking, and he runs in the back of me then he has the insurance to answer to as to why in a 30 zone he was up my bumper!!!

I was merely using the fact that speeding kills, even if there were no children around.

"speeding kills", an almost meaningless statement.

Very mature. I think that you are one of the drivers that you describe as nuts if you do this or pull over. Pulling over seems a bit of a no brainer. As Goldspanners points out it is about common sense.

I would hope that there are no kids retriving balls just before the NSL or not really the place for the NSL.

Not sure why the OP is suddenly a bad driver and how points will make him a better one, sure it will made him more cautionous. This might not be a bad thing but I would have thought speedo watching might be a distraction. The good news was that the driver was doing 30, the bad news they were so busy watching the speedo they didn't spot the kid with a ball.

If you actually read post 57 you would know that Pew Pew Pew Lasers! said they did not have any points.

Speeding can kill but not the only area that should be focused on. Catching speeders probably more to do with revenue than safety. I don't think that drivers can just go making up the speed limits but why the soapbox. I think that drivers that do not speed are in the minority. That is not to say that speeding does not matter but a bit of common sense needs to be applied.

Rather than the actual speed why not look at careless driving as a result of excess speed. Perhaps soon this will be as socially unacceptable as drink driving. Most people would not think that 38 outside a school would be acceptable after all.

OP, personally unless the signs were wrong I would take the points or course if offered. While there may have been factors you were still caught over the limit.

Hypocrite. You have a go at people for carrying out the 'unsafe' practice of speeding, then state you actually carry out activities that vastly increase the chances of an accident? You shouldn't be on the road. You either have no idea what the possible consequences of your actions are, or a blatant disregard for safety. But as long you are under the speed limit, it's fine.
