Speeding ticket - advice please

It's not that rare to be caught out like that...This is another one of North Wales' mobile mugging machines. This one is on the A541 at Gwersyllt. The speed limit is just 30mph which opens out on to a dual carriageway. Many people are tempted to overtake at this point and the Scamera Partnership knows this. The 30mph limit lasts for a few hundred hundred yards then it becomes 70mph as you can see by the NSL signs. The van is aiming at traffic just before it passes the NSL signs and this is when it will have you.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I'm normally not one for supporting speeders, but THAT piccy, if correct, shows something just plain mean!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

nope,im saying that most drivers have gone over a speed limit at least once in thier life, whether they meant it or not, or whether they got caught doing so.
i hate the high and mighty opinion folk take on here and other forums about folk speeding,as the picture bowling posted shows getting caught speeding isnt always fair in the way we are caught....work permit granted!0 -
The picture at Gwersyllt is rather old that particular stretch of road is somewhat different now-the dual carriageway has been reduced to a single lane with a very small overtaking lane a bit further up. Personally I think the police used to sit there to catch the traffic going the other way from the 70 mph into the 30 mph zone-especially seeing as someone was killed just outside the radio studios. (not to mention the fact it is a built up area with a school and housing......)Fair dos i say!
Although i am not that big a fan of North Wales Police - what with the speed cameras in horse boxes!!:mad:0 -

I don't think anyone's lectured anybody about speeding, just said that if you get caught you should live with it.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

its just that the guy seems to have been caught a bit unfairly, i know speed limits have to start somewhere but trapping folk just before the limit changes is unfair....work permit granted!0 -

It's a bit sharp, I don't approve of speed traps of that kind (not sure I approve of speed traps at all, rather see more traffic police out enforcing all aspects of good driving but whole other thread, can open worms all over the place). However we all know the easiest way not to get caught speeding is not to speed - they did and got caught out.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
You went over the speed limit.
You admit you did 38 miles in a 30 zone, none the less you say you did this because the driver was behind you was getting annoyed, so that makes it okay in your mind.
You should have pulled in and let him pass then, you could have also carried on and ignored him.
You did the speed now you pay for the ticket and get the points, what if a child ran out in the road?!
If you saw a ball rolling into the road will you speed up to avoid it or slow down?
Get to grips, pay your fine.
As for drivers course you wont get it, its upto 6 miles over, you have 8 miles over.
6 points for 3 years and a fine.
maybe it'll hep you be a better driver0
