But he might not have been speeding. Maybe the signage was incorrect or the signs were in the wrong place?

Perhaps you should take your own advice, and assume that the authorities are never wrong, and pay your parking ticket?

Mine is a parking ticket, I have a blue badge:rolleyes:

OP admits he did speed, he knew.
My ticket was wrongly issued as I have a blue badge, before getting on your horse read facts, don't bring subjects in that are not anything to do with this.

Fact is, he did the speed, he knew it, he admits it.

    Some people today:rolleyes:
No wonder the roads are so full of nuts

For an accurate answer, the OP should take the time to ask a question on

    http://www.5ive-o.org/forum/index.php

from some of the opinions posted on this thread,I feel there is much to be said for automated speed enforcement.

Whaat IS the problem with cameras, or speed traps, or whatever you want to call them?

As far as I can see, the issue is, getting caught.

And some folk simply think it's all a bit unfair.

as if driving is really a game?

Speed detection devices free-up our hard pressed traffic police to observe and bring to book those drivers committing other offences, like careless or dangerous driving, drink driving, using mobile phones, etc.

Exceeding a speed limit is an entirely self-centred act.
No-one does so out of concern for others...or for ulterior motives.

There are simply no excuses for exceeding the legal speed limit.

If one does not like the limit, then one should work to get it changed.

to expect another driver to siumply 'pull over'' so that one can speed off is also selfish, and tantamount to bullying.

Why not simply overtake, when the opportunity presents itself?

regardless of the speed limit?? [and risk recieving a NIP of course, but who cares?]

[the OP was within a 30mph limit.....and has no legal, or moral duty to delay HIS journey so that some hooray henry can drive faster]

A good driver drives WITHIN the law.

    In all respects.

for those who wish to be selective about what they comply with, and what not?

well...don't trip over your spurs guys....
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Perhaps before attempting to lecture others, you could come up with an argument that didn't rely on emotive tactics. Tactics which are nothing but a straw man.

But please, feel free to engage me in a rational debate on the facts. I'd love to see the full extent of your ignorance on this matter.

You don'y deny having any points then?

I have never had any points, speeding fines.
Insurance is cheap and I'm 22, its people like the OP that give the younger people a bad name, oh and did I mention my insurance for my V6 is only £140 fully comp and thats my OWN policy.
If you cant take the points, don't speed.

Your posts are failing apart, perhaps write to your MP vicar about seeing about those new speed signs being put up:rolleyes:

...of course an entirely unbiased site.

Yes, offences that are actually dangerous. Unlike exceeding a speed limit.

    Yes there are.

One does that by ignoring it, as most people will when a speed limit is set inappropriately low.

Laws become unjust when a majority ignore them.

Ah yes, lets perform one of the most dangerous manoeuvres on the road, but do it while observing the speedometer. That's much safer.

There are many drivers who do just that, I wouldn't call many of them good, or safe.

I wasn't aware I had to answer to you, but no I have no points. Never have. 20,000 miles a year for 15 years. IAM qualified too. Last car was a TVR Chimaera, with a V8 that shats all over your V6.

You're talking bollox. People who exceed the speed limit safely and appropriately do not give young drivers a bad name. Young drivers who don't have a clue about life (but think they do), do.

But please do feel free to lecture me on what it means to be a safe driver. You can start by explaining the principles behind COAST.

Looks like you have points, don't advise me on your rubbish when you have them yourself.

    Shouldn't speed should you!
Can't/don't want to pay it, don't speed.

A safe driver doesn't speed and in this case, you don't sound as you have any regard to anyone on the road or people crossing it:rolleyes:

    congratulations!
ive got 3 points currently on my liscence, still 6 for insurance though until this next month.
2nd set were warranted, but first set were totally undeserved. but i suppose some child may have ran out infront of me couldnt they?

can you still not see the road was just about to change to a NSL road? if a child ran out in front of the op a few yards up the road when they had accelerated within the new speed limit and ran over a child would this have been ok.

seen as you want to add ifs and but i thought i would aswell.

    Big words being used here.

BUT you still fail to state if you have points or not??
    I think so.

Again you mention your V8, nice car, again you say it like some kind of race on the roads, thats why my V6 is still on the road and yours is a write off;)

You need to stop chatting rubbish as your showing youself up now:rotfl:

    Are you even insured?:D

I think perhaps you should consider learning to read.

By the way, please do entertain us all with your attempts to remove 6 spark plugs from your engine. It should be good for a laugh.
