I really need to join this thread! Havent set a date yet but are looking at 2011. To get to my ideal weight I need to lose about 6 stone , but would be happy with 4!
My main problem is snacking, and lack of exercise. I am out of the house from 6.15am-7pm, including a 4 hour commute and need my car for work as I am community based. By the time I get home at night, have my tea, take the dog out (he is only wee and walks really slow so that doesnt really count much as exercise!) its time for bed, as I have to get up at 5.15am!
have done all the slimming plans, but only last a few weeks then it goes wrong.
Really I need a big kick up the b u m and stop with the snacking! :mad:0 -
Evening everyone!! I hope the Monday blues arent getting you too down today.
Thanks to everyone for your lovely messages, I feel all warm and mushy inside! "she loves to buy stuff" (so do I lol) you are spot on, the 1st 2 weeks are the worst, but whilst my darling OH is currently cooking a curry (and yep, it smells fab) I'm sooo looking forward to my soup, prawn salad and muller light yoghurt......a 3 course meal for me hehe.
My family have been brilliant, the kids are loving the extra exercise (well, I think they just enjoy watching me making a prat out of myself personally!!) but they have been the key to making sure mum enjoys herself whilst feeling the burn!
Tartan totty, it sounds like we both have the same weight loss goal in mind, mine was 6 stone (its now 5 woo hoo!!) but I know its so hard to lose weight when you work long hours, the last thing you want to do is exercise!! However, a few weeks into it you will see your energy levels increase and then it just becomes 2nd nature!
Svjenni.....Thankyou.....I hadnt thought of a little reward scheme.....Now Ive just got to decide on some!!
Thanks once again for all of your messages, lets all keep this up!! Cos we all rock :jNEVER look down at somebody....unless you are helping them up.0 -
I walked the 3 and a half mile round trip to school today, came home and had a nice bowl of porridge - would have preferred a bacon bap though

I know what you mean shelovestobuystuff about the magic 2 weeks - I am doing well with the diet but its the exercise, i need to pass the magic 2 weeks of exercise.0 -
2 weeks eh?
I'd gone down from almost an 18 to a 10 last year using daily plate to track foods calories and exercise. I'd become a runner and was running every other day I felt AMAZING
then
I had a very messy break up
A whirlwind romance with an old friend (We've always had feelings for each other but we're trying to do "the right thing" with our ex's as it's what everyone expected MEH! if it's right get on with it.) This is the lovely Paulie.
had a bad smear test last september and in November part of me cervix removed.
didnt feel like running
Happiness with paulie has made me more content I eat more. I dont exercise cos I seem to me sugically connected to him - we're so soppy we'd make you wanna vomit.
I've stopped climbing, skating and exercising
I have taken up wakeboarding but a lot of the time I'm tooooo shattered to do it
Soo anyway I'm a larger 12 now (okay probably 14 if I'm honest). I'd like to be a 10 again for the wedding. Entirely do-able I hear you cry!
Yesss well...
I get up at 5am. Take him to the train station
go to work
at the moment I come home lunch time cos of the cutest destructive thing ever (beagle puppy)
I pick up paulie at the station get home late. What I'd like to do is crash out but I've become the family and friends cake maker - one course and I'm apparently an expert.
Anyway there's usually cake to make. which I dont mind it's fun and hell maybe oneday it'll make me some money
or OS style batch cooking
unfortunately I eat plenty of what I cook.
I also have IBS which means when Tummy is hungry tummy eats. Otherwise I'm in pain and I dont want to live that way again.
Bed at 9pm.
Whhhhheeeerre can I fit in the exercise?
(but not this week cos I got flu - just hope it's not the piggy kind.)
First plan of action is try to combine dog walks with running. However our little pack need more training than I know how to run nicely with me.
cooor aint I a whinger
it's cos I'm ill see

Hi, I was on Xenical about 3 months ago. It seemed to work physically but I don't have a huge amount of fat in my diet so I lost about 3lbs in few months (i have a lot to lose). Plus I'm convinced it gave me gallbladder problems. Apparently one of the side effects is Gallstones, and thats what I now suffer with. So personally I had a bad experience.
I've now joined the gym (council gym) so get classes, gym and swimming all thrown in, and started last week. In 1 week I have lost 6.4 lbs, so chuffed!!:j
Think this thread is a good idea. Fingers crossed for an ITV win

My problem is simple. I eat too much and do no exercise whatsoever.
When I go to bed I have these great intentions of getting back from work the next day and chucking on a workout dvd, does it happen, of course not.
I'm going dress shopping on Monday, maybe that will give me the spur I need to actually lose some weight.Bride to Be - 28th August 2010 :dance:0 -
This thread has given me the kick up the b u m thatI need so today have started being much more aware about what I am eating again, and am going to try and stop with the snacking. No more sneaky sweeties when I get petrol - will save me money too, and I will add that to our coin jar ( a big empty pickle jar from the chippy, lol!!). I only get a 30 min lunch break, but am going to take my trainers and do a 15 min power walk as often as I can. Not much but better than nothing, and when I am out with the dog we will be going round the hilly streets rather than the flat ones!
Slow and steady wins the race.....and all that!!:T0 -

It was ordering my dress which kick started me into action again.I had to order it a few days ago to make sure it arrived in time although I am still much bigger than I want to be on my wedding day.I am not happy with the size I have had to have it ordered in so I plan to have it taken in the maximum amount possible when it arrives.
If by some miracle I am too small for the dress through losing too much weight I am sure I will not mind having to find something smaller at the last minute.
I have managed to lose 2" off my waist in 5 days through exercise and 1" everywhere else.I can feel everything getting firmer which is fantastic:D"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
