We just had half of this for our dessert ... goodbye wedding day slimness

Pain-au-Chocolat Pudding
3-4 Stale pains au chocolat
500 ml milk
500 ml double cream
3 tablespoons caster sugar
1 large egg
4 large egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ovenproof dish approx 1.5 litres capacity.
Preheat oven to 160 C/ gas mark 3
Butter your ovenproof dish, cut up the pain au chocolat, rough slices of about a centimetre - arrange them in the dish.
Put the milk and cream into a pan and bring near to boiling point. Whisk the egg, the yolks and the sugar in a wide-mouthed measuring jug. When the milk and cream are nearly boiling, pour over the eggs and sugar, whisking continuously. Add the vanilla and then pour over the slices of pain au chocolat and leave to soak for 10 mins.
Transfer to the preheated oven and cook for about 45 mins or until the pudding is softly set.,___,

I need to lose about 21lb by may next year. even 14lb would do. I can't believe I've put this amount of weight on. I usually get to 7lb over my normal weight then get it off before it gets out of hand, and this time it didnt work and its now 21lb to get off. Going to try slimming world I think, had a lot of success with them in the past. Goodl uck all

I'd like to join in please - we haven't got a wedding date yet, but I've been on the weight loss trail for about two years and have lost 3 stone 12lbs in this time - I would like to lose another 9lbs which will take me to 10 and a half stone. My biggest annoyance is the size of my thighs, the fat has fallen off pretty much everywhere else, but my thighs are still huge!
I'm not following any particular diet, just trying to eat healthy the majority of the time and eat treats in moderation. I started walking when I moved to this house two years ago (as it's only a couple of minutes walk from home to nice countryside and loads of public footpaths.) I also have a lateral thigh trainer, which I pretty much ignored since we moved in, but I have recently dusted off and use once a week.
To try and kickstart the thigh shrinkage, I also started running nine weeks ago. I now go running three times a week. I still can't quite believe it sometimes - ME? RUNNING!?! I'm the most unfit person I know (or used to be anyway!) Hugely recommend the book 'Running Made Easy' by Susie Whalley & Lisa Jackson for anyone thinking of starting running, it starts off with just running 60 seconds at a time, then walking to get your breath back and builds it up week by week.
I know there are plenty of running plans for free on the internet, but the main thing the book did for me was to motivate me to believe I could at least get outside and try running for 60 seconds, and I could do the whole first session of 15 minutes without dying (which is what I thought would happen as I have memories of torturous cross country running at school!). I only have another two weeks left of the plan, and then I can start building on the amount of time I can run for and think about entering a 5k race!
Also, thank you for recommending Daily Plate, I've had a fab time on there today, (although my fat consumption has been massive due to eating the extra slices of cheddar cheese that OH didn't want earlier - cheese and crisps are my biggest downfall!)0 -
Can I join in please? We're not getting married until August 2011, but I've got loads to lose.
I'm going to start Slimming World (again) and get back into running. Before the summer I was doing the couch to 5K running programme and was really enjoying it, but I've fallen off the wagon a bit - need a good kick up the bum really!
I don't have an ideal weight really, but would like to be a proper size 12 in 2 years time - here's hoping!Sealed Pot Challenge - member 1109:j0
