i bought the chick peas, as i have had chick pea and vegetable curry before,

so i thought i could use them to bulk out my meat in the tomato and basil sauce.. and also turn the sauce into curry,

do you think if i add chicken stock to it, to make it thinner, that it could make a nice soup?

Yes I think that would make an ace soup.

I'm telling myself that I can't base an order on organic couscous (had an order 2 days ago). AND they've reduced the Marmite crisps.

Really silly question here - but can I decant & freeze the Loyd Grossman sauces in smaller portions?

I think yes as it's basically just a tomato sauce - but confirmation would be nice

    Thanks folks

  • Yes, that would be absolutely fine. We've done that with some of the huge containers and it's been perfect. Enjoy the sometimes strange world of Approved Food!:D

Or you can cook it with some meat or lentils or extra tomatoes or veg and then freeze it. It seems pretty hardy. And so bargainiforous.

Have they stopped using DPD for delivery? I have had HDNL twice now, no more 1hr slots.

Looks like less orders from me can't sit in all day.

I opened it today- it has a pop- out pourer so it wasn't too bad. Anyway, it actually is lovely oil. Maybe I could even get myself organsied and infuse something in it and give it as Christmas gifts...At the moment as soon as I get a screw top wine bottle I am filling it up with oil. It is making me happy! So is all the wine possibly...

    Make your own soap!!!

thought id have a peep at approved food as i havent looked in a year or so and its changed a fair bit, i have a basket sitting waiting but im a bit annoyed at the huge price hike for the Highlands.. we are still MAINLAND UK so the leap in delivery price is pretty crappy.

My partner works for a courier company and i know that there is no great whapping extra surcharges to deliver to the highlands, deliveries from down south come daily by a number of different national courier services (including Parcelforce who i had deliver a 32" tv delivered from london for £24!!) i just dont think i can justify over £10 on postage when someone half an hour from me that isnt classed as the Highlands postcodes would get National postage rates..

    *rant over* :o

  • The Douwe Egberts ground coffee for cafetiers (also OK in expresso or filter) is down to 54p for 227grams. You probably all realise that the pack sizes have gone down in weight now - this is the old weight. It's not a bad coffee at all, very drinkable. Just had another 60 delivered which will last us a year or more. It's vaccuum packed so I've no problem in drinking years past the sell by date - have done it before & not noticed any difference
