I'm just not quite sure how I ordered 25l of extra virgin organic olive oil. However, there it is in the hallway.I was thinking I may have thought 2.5 litres and tbh I wouldn't have been surprised. My husband took delivery yesterday and he was a little taken aback.:o
Anyway- looking on the website I see I must have won the prize draw:p
Which is great. So all I need to do now is find a way of gettting it round to my friends- they will have to bring a bottle I think.:rotfl:

ooooo well done on winning the olive oil,

i notice tehy have the big jars of salsa .... what could i use that for?

Oh I saw that competition and wondered what on earth I'd do with 25 litres of oil!!
Well done and enjoy sharing it.

It did cross my mind that it might work instead of diesel I know some cooking oil does !!

I froze the last lot in batches and actually used it really quickly- I just served it up as a side with anything dry ish. Also I rememberr at the time people cooked it in tomato type sauces and it was fine...

I haven't tried it yet but it actually does look posh- it is from a huilere in France and is definitely organic also. My only reservation is over how long it will keep- and also managing to look after it over time. Which is why I will try to get it dispersed...

It says something about my AF shopping habit that my husband didn't bat an eyelid when this bizarre item arrived- and I merely assumed it was another slight glitch in my reading of sizes...

Well done on the win, I've just had a quick google & it seems that up to 2 years is the longest it should be kept, in a cool dark place.
I don't know if you've ever had it but a wonderful starter or snack, is toast, unsliced is best as when you cut it the surface is rougher, then you rub a garlic clove all over the toast then the cut side of half a tomato, need to be room temp, then sprinkle with your olive oil. Delicious.
Don't forget all the other things you can use it for, http://www.greenlivingtips.com/articles/168/1/Uses-for-olive-oil.html

Thanks for that! Maybe someone else on here will win this week's one.
I've been thinking about decanting into wine bottles etc, which I will do but I think bearing in mind the practicalities of decanting it and the likely mess and general heaviness of it, I have sent out a message to friends and several people are going to come and get some. I'm just no good at that kind of long term storage!! And it will be fun to share it around- after all it was free to me.
