Hi ukstuff. I was in Asda yesterday: twin pack Willow (butter/marg) SEL 92p, scanned 98p. Never any hassle at CS.
I've started saving these £2s on the same card now, £6 from last 3 visits (which is about as much as I've spent in there).
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Is it Asdas policy to give you a £2 card? I was over charged for two packs of grapes last Wednesday and didn't even get an apology. I was handed back the 49p for each pack but that was all.

I was overcharged on some chicken and I got the £2 giftcard when I went to customer services. I was told that "because it was our mistake we have to give you a £2 voucher", so I assume it is company policy.

i believe it is company policy but in some stores (like my local) you have to ask, others they give it to you .

It depends whos on customer service some of them think its coming out of their pocket. I was over charged on 3 things in a week, and when i took them back all I got was the difference and an apology, yet anthother time ive been given £2 on a card.

Actually, it is in effect as it would come off the stores profilt and therefore bonus.

My mum works on CS at asda and they where told to stop giving out the £2 card unless the customer asks for it as people where abusing it. They where getting the £2 card for as little as a 1p under or overcharge so they put their foot down.

Makes me laugh, they put these offers on like the 3 year warranty on electrics and expect people not to abuse it, thats the way some people are and they do spoil it for the honest customers.

We've had a similar opinion expressed on the Tesco mis-price discussion thread. If I am overcharged on my shopping (even if only by a penny), I will draw it to the attention of staff. Somewhere in the store a price or an offer has been displayed incorrectly. That is not my fault, but the fault of whoever is responsible for pricing/maintenance/whatever.

I am aware that they have a policy to provide a £2 giftcard for any errors they make in pricing, so I will happily accept that. I do not consider that I am abusing their policy. How about if Trading Standards were informed everytime they overcharged customers? Then they might feel victims of abuse!

Is how asda see it, they see it as abusing their policies

On the subject of wrong prices check your till receipts at wilkinsons, on my last four visits i was overcharged on every occasion on 5 products. ranging from 6p to nearly £2.
