We have car seats for both our kids and they are both Britax ones and we have been very happy with them.
If you go to the Britax website they have a fit finder which tells you what seats go in what cars

We recently bought 2 of this one from Mothercare as manged to get a really good deal on it (with help of various voucher codes from various websites)

But looking at the mothercare website the deal is now finished- I did notice though that Halfords were selling various Britax seats discounted- one called the eclipse which looks very similar

We have the Maxi Cosi Priori.
It's fine! It feels nice and safe, easy to adjust the strap length, easy to get in and out of cars although is quite big and heavy.
We got ours from Halfords and they were great. Tried it in the car to make sure it fitted, and then showed me how to do it.0 -
Use www.which.co.uk Join up as a trial member for £ 1.00 and you can get the 'Best buys' of car seats that they recommend.
Lots of other stuff tested too.0 -
make sure your car and the seat you choose are compatible. Halfords do a free check on your car and will make sure that the seat fits properly. Also, your local trading standards may be able to help also.
I work for a local authority and a couple of years ago our trading standards tested child seats as part of safety week. Most were fitted badly or were the wrong size for the child. We spoke to a guy who had a BMW who had telephoned to ask BMW which car seat would fit his car was told something like "BMW don't make child seats - our cars aren't for children".....Bern :j0 -
We've been very happy with the Britax Evolva 1-2-3 which takes you from where you are right through to not needing anything. We have two of those as its easier than swapping them between cars.
We've also got 2 M&P seats - a Pro-Tec which is also great (that is just a stage one seat and you'd then need to buy another seat when they get to 18kg), and a Pro-Tour which is their 1-2-3 seat which we've found much less satisfactory.
Do however get the actual seat checked in your car - in theory various seats should have fitted our car but in practice the Pro-Tec was the only one of that style which actually did. It comes down to the individual lengths of seat belts and buckle attachments.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
We have the Bebeconfort axiss - which is now branded in the uk under Maxi Cosi. It swivels 90 degrees to face the door, makes it much easier to get a toddler in and out.
