That's what we bought for our son and it's been fantastic - not sure if it's stylish, TBH I don't care - it came up #1 in a safety survey so that's why we got it.
Just about to buy a Group 1 seat as he is 1 in 6 days (time flies!) and I wouldn't hesitate to choose Maxi-Cosi again.0 -

Have you checked his weight though, as it goes by weight and not ageTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
ISOFIX is definitely the way forward, seriously most newer cars have them and slightly older cars can have them retrofitted. Old cars however can't unfortunately.0

Glad to hear you liked itMy friend's son is already out of it and he is just 10 months (he is a big baby).
The one I am borrowing is bright blue and we don't know yet what flavour we are having so potentially there will be a wee girl in a completely blue seat, so that will confuse people! I am not bothered about it though.
I think it is quite sylish as you can get it in a lot of colours etc and it attaches to a lot of different pushchair/travel systems now as well.0 -
"ISOFIX is definitely the way forward"
Great in theory, terrible in practice.
The only standards for Isofix are the fixing in the car and on the seat. There is no standard for design of car therefore you will always have the problem of not being able to buy an Isofix seat which is compatible with all cars.0 -
lizziebell - the maxicosi website doesn't show any reasonably new cars sadly - best bet is go and try it in your car - pretty much everywhere will let you try it out before buying though
We have a 54 plate Santa Fe and a new Passat CC and neither were listed on the maxiCosi site and yet when tested it fitted both - one with iso fix the other without
I had no trouble finding mine, in my signature, and it only came out in 2005 originally (although mine is newer), but obviously I didn't check for other cars. I was checking the isofix bit for the base. It was just one resource to try for me when researching all of this.
I also checked that it all fitted in our car at the weekend so all goodMy friend had suggested doing that as well as checking the website (we also did this before deciding on the pushchair we were going to get, the trying it in the car bit that is).

My daughter needs to buy a new car seat, her baby is getting too big for the first one. We have been looking at various ones but cant decide
Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on good buys or bad buys.
thanks0 -
Well it depends on the type of car. Not all of them fit every car (which is why most places will test their fit before you actually purchase).
I have a maxi cosi one - seems to be a good make and pretty popular.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

We have a bebe confort oxygen and I hate it, although it is well padded and comfy for LO the recline on it is just too awkward as it is a wide up system, although the fact that the sides move in and out for growth of the child is good.
Sorry a bit jumbled some good some bad points about it

i would say from having looked around (take that being nosey and looking in other people cars lol), that the maxi cosi priori and tobi seem to be the most popular.
we bought dd the priori xp, and can honestly say i have had no problems with it - even for a big car seat, its very easy and quick to change from one car to another
