Going to put my personalised Love Hearts in along with heart shaped lollies, heart shaped Haribo, Haribo rings etc, then fold the bag and staple a heart shaped name tag on. These can then sit on the plates as place names
The bags were £2.49 for 100, including postage.
I love this idea and think my future husband would approve as well! Where did you get the bags from, although they won't match my colour scheme they are the perfect thing to put sweeties in! I think it's also great that you're using them as place settings!0 -
We had seed paper hearts (wild flowers) with a little tag asking guests to plant them and remember the day (or some such cutesy thing!). They were about £5.50 for 10 and the lady I bought them off hand made them.
I really want to do something like this, I was thinking of buying the tiny little plant pots you using for seeding and painting them white, adding a blue ribbon and attaching a tag with the guests name so it could double up as a place setting. And then either making tiny envelopes to put seeds in or look into the seed mats. I'm just a little concerned that people wouldn't appreciate them or wouldn't plant them so i've wasted my time!
Has anyone received these at a wedding or done them and had feedback?0 -
We are donating money to Cancer Research as both our families have sadly been majorily affected by this terrible disease so we are donating the equivalent to £1 per head (approx £100) to this charity and they send place cards and a brooch for the ladies - the place cards will be from the charity stating they we have donated etc and we will tell our guests what we have done in our speeches.
We personally wanted to give something special to everyone and we know this would mean more to our families than a bag of almonds etc.
We will be also doing a jar of sweets on every table too but this was my idea as I love sweets lol:j:jGetting Married 28th August 2010 :T:T0 -

Might see if I can add these to the cupcake boxes as we're a Daddy short due to cancer and it would be a nice way to have him at the wedding. :T"I know that Prince Charming doesn’t come save me, we save each other and fight back to back against all comers that’s what marriage is to me. I just think its such a lovley thing to do as u can give something to people and for a charity that needs it etc - if that makes sense, we are a few uncles, aunts, granparents, cousins and friends who will be missing from our celebrations becuase of this awful thing:j:jGetting Married 28th August 2010 :T:T0 -

That is such a lovely idea. I would do anything for my step-mum to be at my wedding but she died of breast cancer 18 months ago at the age of 44. This would be a perfect way to do something in memory of her on my special day, thank you so much0 -

i think it sounds a lovely thoughtful idea, but a lot of previous brides say that the favours they planned weren't uplifted by guests. if i had gone to all the effort you plan i would be annoyed if i found out that loads of them were left behind.
i don't think favours are a necessity, they are a tradition in some parts which has been expanded by the wedding industry. if you can afford & want them then do it, otherwise don't bother.
we are having favours but are having a small intimate wedding of 12 people in total and still our favours are inexpensive.
to be honest as a guest, i am not greenfingered, so your favour whilst lovely, would go to waste on us. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09

the cancer research thing is a lovely idea, especially if your families have been blighted by it. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09

My brother also did the donation to Cancer Research, as our grandad died of cancer a few years ago, and the bride's dad also died of cancer recently so it was a lovely thoughtful gift. Every guest got a card saying 'a donation has been made in your name' too. If you're against having favours, or think they're pointless 'tat' then this could be a good alternative?

I got them from Ebay - how many do you need because I actually might be getting different bags instead now.0
