What favours are you having, and how much were they?

  • Hi all

I was really struggling for favour ideas, i wanted something a bit different but reasonably priced (as we have 100 guests)

However i am going for little tin buckets (2" high ish) wrapping ribbon round the handles and adding a thank you tag, filled with minstrels for the ladies and have miniature green and black chocs for the men. our colours were going to be purples and lilacs so i was also going to scatter a few big purple chocs around the tables too, we're now having a blue wedding!!)

Wanted miniature whiskey's and perfumes but way too expensive.

I like the cupcake idea too
    SPC 18 Target £200 /
  • For the men - miniature bottles of whiskey, Jack Daniels, smirnoff and gin - from justminiatures.co.uk through Quidco...£40 for them

For the women - minature bottles of hand and body lotion from the Body Shop - luckily I went in on a day when they were doing buy 3 get one free....all in all I saved £20.
;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)

No, you're totally fine. Favours are either cheap chocolate, or tat that's banished to the back of the cupboard (apart from those VW tealights which are the only good favour I have ever seen) I don't want a glass with your name on, a mirror with your wedding date engraved or your sugared almonds. Save your money and put it towards your honeymoon that you'll no doubt be asking your guests to pay for.

Thanks, but just to clarify, I am paying for the entire wedding and honeymoon myself, I dont need any gifts or donations from the guests, If anything I am considering that if people do want to give us anything, they give to the local hospice.

The men have got a s/s hip flask which will be filled with Jack Daniels and a friend of ours is going to engrave them for free - Bonus!! They cost a £1 each from the poundshop but are the same as the ones in Timpsons for £6 plus the cost of the JD

The women have a gorgeous silver compact mirror with a crystal heart on the front and matching handbag charm with crystal heart and beads. These cost £4 each in the sale but I found a code giving another £2 off each of them so they only cost £2!!

I am going to make my own wild seed packets for the evening guests, so cost of paper/ink and seeds shouldn't be more that £20 If that!

    Hi,
If you dont mind me asking, where di you get the mirrors from with the £2 off?

    Thanks

    I'm having little ivory paper bags for all of my guests (50) with ;
    • a mini bar of chocolate with our pics on it (we photocopied a lovely pic of us pulling faces, cut to size and used it as a wrapper.) 20p each ish?
    • a little card with a funny wedding custom/wedding triv on it (I have these ready to print if anyone wants a copy, they're great!)
    • a miniture perfume for the ladies, (Ghost, Anais Anais etc) from sale at Boots at Christmas, about 80p each?
    • and a metal puzzle for the men (from Ebay), about 20p each with the words 'love is like a puzzle….when two pieces fit together its perfect' attached!
Kinda like a party loot bag I guess, but with lots of lovely things in!

    Hels

    Hi,

Just bought some pink and white candy striped paper bags, the ones you used to get in sweet shops. Going to put my personalised Love Hearts in along with heart shaped lollies, heart shaped Haribo, Haribo rings etc, then fold the bag and staple a heart shaped name tag on. These can then sit on the plates as place names :D The bags were £2.49 for 100, including postage.

I'm not getting married .. I'm not engaged ... unlikely to be any time soon .. but

When I get married (*cough*) I will be having little tin buckets with mint plants in them with anote sayin to go home and plant me. Somebody mentioned something simaler here with lavender. I think it looks pretty, adds to the table decoration and acts as a lasting memorial.

Right .. I'll skulk off to my not getting married corner now! I like to frighten my BF with comments like this!
