hi telvy i also had a problem with mobile outlets terms and conditions........... i later rang mobileoutlet (after my previous post) i was told "yes they have received the paperwork", but now they will try shafting me in another way by sending a letter to my house stating:
"your cash back redemption has been rejetected as you DID PROVIDE ALL YOUR BILLS but DID NOT include your dispatch note".......

come on this company is out to shaft every one of its present and potential customers................ for the record i couldnt find anything in the terms and conditions about HAVING to send the dispatch note.... BUT it does say right at the bottom of the despatch not that you have to send it in with your first claim........... it doesnt say anything about your claim being void if ou don't...................
Aside form the fact that this is all issues pertaining to small print I MUST HAVE ASKED 4 PEOPLE AT THE VERY LEAST ABOUT
EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO SEND
and not 1 mentioned anything about the despatch note........
again avoid at all costs........ oh and a message to anybody else out there that has had any similar experience please post so others can be warned....0 -
Very disreputable "company".
Customer service phone keeps you on expensive hold for ages even if you ring one minute after opening time; e-mails ignored.
Terms and conditions on the website are not the same as those sent to you: specifically, clauses 11.4 and 11.5 (the one that refers to the original dispatch note being required for cashback) don't appear on the copy they send you.
Yes I have been caught out too, but is it legal to have two different terms and conditions (the written copy they have sent me today still excudes clauses 11.4 and 11.5)? Anybody know?0 -
Tried to look for these guys on MSE but have found only mention. I've already purchased the package yesterday but am getting a bit worried that they might not pay the CB. Anyway, I have the possibility to cancel the deal during the cooling off period, but I would like to know if any of you have had bad experiences with Mobile outlet. BTW, the URL for the mobile in question is http://www.themobileoutlet.co.uk/handset.asp?txtMode=2&txtNetwork=2&txtHandset=287&txtManufacturer=4:rolleyes: Links are a man's best friends.com0

I've applied for my first cashback. Sent the first 6 bills and filled in the cash back voucher.
I received a letter from them today saying that my claim has been declined because I did not send the dispatch note.
I've emailed them this morning and told them that it does not state on the t&c that you need to send the dispatch note.
Have to wait and see. Hopefuly I will be get my money.0 -
my gf had the same problem as mentioned earlier:to claim after 6 mths or 9 mths. She asked and was told 9 months was ok but then they sent in an incorrect amt of cashback. What was more when we finally got through (their cust service line makes you hold for so long) we were told her phone was on 8 months free when it was supposed to be on 10 months free. And even so, her cashback amt was not correct for 8 months free! Was told someone would check and call her back (yeah right). I called in again, got no help, and wrote in an official letter but hvnt received a reply yet. We shall see how it goes...0

I too had my cashback claim rejected today because of a lack of despatch note. I can back up what steevo says about the written terms and conditions ommiting clauses 11.4 and 11.5 from the website regarding this. Thank god I still have the older document to prove that I've done nothing wrong! If you still have your T&Cs then don't lose hope yet. You have a written agreement with this company, and they cannot change the conditions you agreed to. If you don't still have the T&Cs they sent you then it might get tricky. However legally they are still bound by these, so when you complain don't let on you haven't got them anymore or they may demand proof. Trust me there's no mention of a despatch note on them! THEY'RE TRYING TO CON US! I'm going to get on to them tomorrow. They're not getting away with it!0

I have a scanned copy of my T&Cs, from an order I placed in Feb '06; which has a cashback at the 6 & 12-month point. Just pm me with your home email address and I can send the file through to you.gawdblesshim wrote:If you still have your T&Cs then don't lose hope yet. Correct in some of the older T&Cs. My T&Cs did not include the "send us the original dispatch note" but it had been included in a paragraph on the fron of the dispatch note. I successfully argued that the waffle on the front DID NOT form part of the T&Cs we agreed to.gawdblesshim wrote:However legally they are still bound by these, so when you complain don't let on you haven't got them anymore or they may demand proof. Agreed.gawdblesshim wrote:THEY'RE TRYING TO CON US!
I got fed up waiting for them to be sensible. I sent a response to their rejection letter, by recorded post, setting out my reasons for why i thought they were wrong. I finished by telling them that they had a fortnight to respond [set a date, such as Friday 25 Aug 06....and stick to it]. I added that if my cheque hadn't arrived by then I would go to the Small Claims Court.gawdblesshim wrote:I'm going to get on to them tomorrow. They're not getting away with it!
No cheque - or correspondence - by Friday 25th. So I logged onto https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk, registered as a claimant, submitted my claim and paid the £30 court costs online. I had a knock at the door the following Wednesday - it was a Special Delivery....a cheque from The Mobile Outlet, for the total amount claimed PLUS a refund of the court costs.
My advice?
Don't waste your time, effort and patience with this organisation. Yes, reply to them stating why you feel you should have your cashback. But set a deadline, after which you intend to register a claim via the online service mentioned above. I suspect that not everyone will have a successful outcome - but it is all done and dusted inside a fortnight, so at least you can get it out of the way and move on.
Good luck to you all.

There is a real good deal on Sony ericsson w810i with this co.
Is worth the risk i ask myself?0 -
I've always been told if a deal seems to be too good to be true it probarbly is, yet when I was using MSEs own price camparison tool for mobile phones today I found themobileoutlet offering a phone free and free 12months line rental (the equvilent in cashback) *only on a 12month contract aswell!* and it seems I was suckered in
I have just sent an email saying:Mobile Phone Order - Ref: #######
Hi, after reading reviews of your company (especially in relation to the cashback offer) I have decided not to go ahead with my order, hopefully there won't be a charge for this but I understand that if there has been a request for connection there will be a £15 cancellation fee.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Andy.
I dont know if the request for connection will have taken place? I dont think so since they say they need to do credit checks etc. Maybe if they are this bad MSE should take them out of their price comparison thingy0 -
After reading all the responses on this forum, its nerve-racking since I placed my order for Sony W810i on Saturday! Today is second day of the order and I haven’t received one email from them (only received auto responses), however they have charged my bank account £1.99 through my card. I emailed them twice, ones asking about forwarding my existing number and second time asking them about how far my order have been proceed, yet still ant received no response for either of them!
I just don’t know what to do now!?!
