juno wrote:But if they did reduce postage, you'd get confused people buying items off different sellers and moaning when the postage wasn't combined.
The current way, sellers can make themselves look better by offering a partial refund, but they're not obliged to.
I agree, the buyers are not going to understand that each buyer is a separate entity.
I had a double sale a few weeks ago, it was a first for me so I refunded a chunk of money to the surprised buyer.
If I have 2 books that are linked togther in a series or whatever I refer to the other in each listing and say that I'll refund some of the postage costs0 -

I always put a return label on all my post - don't trust the PO either. It used to be an Able label, I still have a huge packet left, but in the last year or so all sorts of junk mail people have sent me address labels , I have them from the British Heart Foundation, St John ambulance and the Woodland Trust ... so I stick those on.
And I only send the packing slip 'cos often I'd rather the buyer didn't know how much less the postage is than they have paid Amazon!0 -
Hi guys
Well I had another trip round a car boot today (wet and cold) When I got back and listed the books I bought I was pleasantly suprised to find 2 of them listed at over £30 (one was 'put your science to work' book and another was 'John Bull's Island') I know I haven't sold them yet but who knows???
Today marks the end of my first week selling on amazon and I am so far due over £61 when I get my payment on the 1st June. I know that is unlikely to continue as high as that but even a few quid every couple of weeks helps. What sort of payouts do you seasoned sellers get?? I have at least one sale every day except today where I have had none (Boo Hoo!!) but still the day is not yet over.
would you believe it - just got e-mail about another sale.
ANOTHER NOTE - WHAT EXPERIENCES DO YOU HAVE OF BUYING AND SELLING VINYL (RECORDS)0 -
I have made £256.29 since I started selling on 20th March, this was my payments for each 2 weekly period
£11.04
£74.33
£41.89
£31.19
£97.84
Seem to get about 2/3 sales a week at the moment although this is just a rough average.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0 -
Thanks Yvonne - you have done well - I hope I can keep around your totals. How many books/items do you have listed? I have 157 items at present and always on the look out for others. I can't believe I haven't done this sooner I am really enjoying it and am getting quite a kick out of my sales.
Lets hope we both sell more today and every day.

If the cd's aren't in the market place data base then you won't be able to sell it there, you could try ebay with it.
You can get the colour and smiley by going to 'edit your signature' in the user CP. There is a big A on the tool bar thingy at the top, that's where you can chose your colour, then click on a smiley where you want it to go0 -
Annie, it's on all the MSE pages - go to Martins head, look down 3 inches or so then look right, it's a salmon pink colour0

OK, I'm with you now - go to edit options, right at the bottom there's this box (copied below)
click it to go to WYSIWYG and then go back to edit signature and see if you have the tool bar at the top of the box.
Message Editor Interface
When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.
Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type. Basic Editor - A simple text box Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing Message Editor Interface:0
