I notice that on the seller account page on Amazon there is now a seller announcement warning about the scam 'sold dispatch now' emails that some sellers have been receiving. Tells you how to double check that the sale really has gone through.
I know some posters on this board had received such dodgy emails - worth checking for.

It seems as though they are mainly targetting mobile phone sellers. I was over the moon when I seen that I had sold my phone for £90, then I realised that it was to go to Nigeria and realised the scam.
There was another thread on MSE this week about the same thing. I also had lots of requests for pictures of the phone. If the grammar/spelling is very poor then its a clue that its a scammer.

I listed a whole batch of items on Amazon on Tuesday but had a few books left over that didn't show at all on Amazon. I decided to bung them all up on Ebay yesterday on a BIN and best offer and within hours had sold one for £7 with no offer even made. Makes up for my lack of Amazon sales, but reading this thread and also the sellers forum on Amazon it does seem to be a bit slow there at the moment.

I sold a CD on Amazon last night and 30 min later I received an email from the buyer saying he wished to cancel as he no longer wanted the item.
Question is what happens now - do I need to refund ? - or does Amazon take care of it all.
what happens about the fees etc
Only just started this week after reading all the encouraging posts here, so a bit cautious about proceedure.
Thanks in advance

Hi snax, welcome to the thread,
That was a bit unfortunate to have a sale then lose it all in the space of 30 mins. You have to do the refund yourself - go to your account page > sellers account page > view your amazon payments account and billing history > transactions and invoicing history and from there you'll find this transaction ID, click on that and you'll find a refund button on that page. Remember to relist the CD is isn't done for you.0 -
Thanks A.T.[for short]
Done and dusted.
Easy when you know how ;>)

ps. is there a button to relist or will I have to start from the beginning again?Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:

Relisting is dead easy - you go back to your seller account page, go to closed listings, the CD will be there and there's a relist button on the same line. After 60 days anything unsold will need to be relisted so it's the same procedure0

About refunding the return postage when the seller has sent out the wrong item.
If i was the seller i would refund the return postage of the item as well. I know you don't have to but i would feel that i have inconvienced the buyer enough buy sending them the wrong item and taken up there time for them to return the item and correct my mistake. I feel that they should not be out of pocket for this. If i was sent the wrong product i would be annoyed first of all that i was sent something different to what i ordered and secondly that i had to pay to return it.
I have refunded return postage in the past for my mistakes.0 -
Thanks again A.T. [thanks button not working again!]Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:
