  • It's the first time, and hopefully the last time but I'm going to try and take advantage of the magic cure-all Amazon thread whinge.

I have just had the worst 2 weeks pay out since I went pro-merchant last year, I normally have pay outs of between £150 and £200 but this last one was a measly £65 for no apparent reason, the one before was £170

So whatever supernatural power this thread has is being called upon to put my figures right in time for the next payout (please :D)

Hi all, I just wanted to say hello. I'm a new amazon seller as of Monday and so far I have listed over 120 books and dvd's and sold 5 items to date. I'm really glad I've found this thread as there are some questions which I don't seem to be able to find the answer to on the site. What are the best sellers for second hand stuff?? is it books? and if so what type of books? fiction/non-fiction/ educational?? I would appreciate advice here if anyone can help. Can I join your amazon club please?
Look forward to chatting with you all. If anyone else has any other advice for a newbie I would really appreciate it
    Thanks again

    Welcome Annie,

Sounds like you are addicted already!!!

AT I had my worst payout ever last week too (in 18 months). However, things seem to have perked up rather this week - or the last 2 days really.

    Hope you get some sales.

    Off to wrap some books!
AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board
  • Hello Annie, you are more than welcome to our club :hello: I think that we are up to around number 18 so take 19 if you like. It's always nice to see new names because new people always bring in new experiences and everyone gains.
You've listed lots already so well done with that. If you get chance to look back through the posts, or even the first post most of us make more money from the non fiction books, particularly the hard to find books on wacky subjects. Text books are usually good too but you need to bear in mind they are quickly out of date.

Keep coming back to let us know how you get on....

ok - next question how do I get the waving smiley and use colour on my signature?????
and.... how do i list something that amazon market place wont accept but it appears on the zshop? it's a 4cd learning french pack and its listed on this z-shop link with amazon for over £20
  • Hi Annie,

If the cd's aren't in the market place data base then you won't be able to sell it there, you could try ebay with it.

You can get the colour and smiley by going to 'edit your signature' in the user CP. There is a big A on the tool bar thingy at the top, that's where you can chose your colour, then click on a smiley where you want it to go

    Hey Annie, welcome

unfortunately the short answer is that you can't list something that Amazon doesn't recognise [unless you are a pro merchant etc and of course you have to be selling quite a bit to make it worth while then you can list whatever you want I think.] I know other sellers also sell stuff on ebay and have had to use this for books etc that can't be sold on Amazon.

    Good luck
