mmm investing in 1995 and 1997 medical textbooks, when the medicial field is progressing so fast that our undergraduate pharmacology texts are supposed to be out of date when we actually become doctors?

Hi Just wonder if anyone can help me with some books I was going to list on Amazon.
I have two which have no ISBN numbers but are quite old:
The Sacrifice of Catharine Ballard by Sydney WAtson. this has no date but looks really old.
and
Favourite Poems to read aloud. (traditional nursery rhymes by Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll, poems by Robert Louis Stevenosn , EUgene Field, Christina Rossetti and other). This was published by Spring Book - copyright 1957.
Cant find these on Amazon or ABE book finder. Is it worth tryin to list them on EBAY?
ALso:
WHo Dies ? by Stephen Levine
Amazon has this book listed but as a 2000 edition mine is 1997. Does this mean I cant list it on AMazon?
Next:
The spiders Palace by Richard Hughes - published by Chatto & Windus in 1961. On amazon it states limited availability - none listed so I dont how much it is worth?
Hope someone can help me - thanks0 -
Have a look on www.bookfinder.com to get an idea of prices."This site is addictive!"

Can anyone tell me? I understaind why books are sold at 0.01p as the seller still receives almonst £1.50 which should easily cover a second hand book and postage, but how can people sell VHS videos for 1p? The final amount due to seller is 58p, which wouldnt even cover postage?0

They must be Pro-Merchant sellers. They wouldn't have to pay the 86p selling charge per item. Still doesn't seem worth the bother!

If Amazon doesn't list the exact edition and isbn of your book then you shouldn't really list it. There has been discussion about this earlier on this thread I think. I think that some of us on here have listed a different edition but highlighted this on our description (I know I have), but I think if you have a read back, it transpired that we shouldn't have been doing this as it's against Amazon rules.
I've never tried selling books on ebay, but I know others on here do and have had some success, so it's definitely worth a try.0 -
I sold a DVD on Amazon last week, and the customer asked for a refund (Genuine listing mistake by me - the cover was the same, but it was a different edition he wanted). I immediately refunded him and asked him to return the said DVD to me. So far nothing........... I have emailed him this morning, but don't hold out much hope. What do other people do? Do you refund before you get the package back? I was thinking about this this morning and if you did this you could also refund the cost of the postage that the buyers pays to send it back to you all in one go... I am wondering if that is why he hasn't returned it - because he will have to pay for the postage back to me and doesn't want to be out of pocket?
Sorry for the waffle! - Hope I haven't confused you.0 -

Personally, I would wait to receive the item before issuing a full refund. I would only refund the original amount that the buyer paid.
As it stands, you can only rely on the buyer's integrity and hope that they do return the DVD to you.
On a happier note (for me) I listed 12 CDs yesterday and have sold two today. :j0 -
Thanks Jo-B - Guess I have learnt a lesson there. Only started selling on Amazon less than two weeks ago so am bound to get caught out! lol - oh well its not one I can list again anyway as it doesn't appear to be on Amazon. :-(
Just became a pro-merchant seller, I listed 101 items and have sold 35 already, so my OH said it made sense....hope my sales don't dry up now!0 -
About 9 months ago, when I first started sellling on Amazon, I went to a church fete and bought a stack of books for literally a couple of quid. One of them was a biology book, its enormous and has been sitting in my book cupboard for so long I had forgotten about it.
Someone bought it today and when I got it down I thought "Cor this is a bit hefty" - turns out it will cost £5.31 to send standard parcels!!!!!! Its a good job I paid about 5p for it  - still will make about £4.00 - I would be thinking more clearly now about the weight of a book etc, but that comes with experience.
