I'm new to selling on Amazon but have been selling CD's etc on ebay for a while.
I'm a book junkie & need to get rid of some of my hoard!! As I have seen mentioned on this thread it takes ages to list books on ebay for a small profit but it is a lot quicker on Amazon.
Is it best to stick to UK delivery only? If I offer to overseas buyers will this reduce my profit?
A lot of my books are easily available & will have to sell at low prices so will rely on some profit on the p & p.
Any help appreciated.:j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0 -

Hi Kazzaw - offering overseas is very good if you have normal sized paperbacks, you'll still make a little money on the postage and you'll widen your audience considerably.
You'll be shown how much you will get for the transaction before you click confirm so do a quick check with the kitchen scales and the RM website (look at printed paper rate) and work out if what's left after you've posted it is acceptable.
Good luck with it, come back and let us know how you've gone on.0 -

I offer overseas on all my items, I don't have any listed really cheap but I think the price I get minus the fees is still more than I'd get on ebay.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

I have "trawled " through this thread this afternoon and what interesting reading! I haven't sold on Amazon yet but am really tempted to try after reading all your success stories and enthusiasm.
The thing is "my books" haven't been mentioned, and I just wondered if you thought that I had a chance. I collect childrens annuals and have lots of replacements and some duplicates which I would love to sell on. I have just started listing a few items on Ebay, with a degree of success certainly 'some' interest and I have enjoyed doing it. Being a Newbie though it is time consuming and Amazon seems fairly straight forward and cheaper.
Has anyone any thoughts? I noticed was it Juno (? )saying she is listing childrens books ,are they paper backs or annuals I wonder? I don't think the majority of my surplus would fetch much and the postage is tight but would just about cover it, some books are heavier than others...
Any advice would be really appreciated

Hi jeannie - the only way you'll really know how much they are likely to fetch is by searching them out on the search facility on amazon (the BOOKS tab on the top of every page) and see what other sellers are asking for them, it'll give you an idea of whether they are in demand or not. I'm afraid that I sold my complete Blue Peter annual (including the famous no1) before ebay or amazon existed so I can't really help.0
