Hello all, have moved house at last! Only problem being I didnt realise it would take 2 weeks to reconnect to broadband! Sold about 20 books and had to refund 15 of them as they were way over the 48 hour posting limit. Never mind am up and running again now. Books are still in old house though as OH still hasn't taken me to get IVAR's he best had this week as I have to give keys of other house back next week! Also got another essay to do in 2 days as I had no computer access done about 1000 words so far only another 3000to go! Sounds like the sales are going quite well for everyone at the moment. Had a quick look on RISI not much on there anymore though or is it just me?I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Hi becky nice to see you back :hello: - the joys of moving house! it's a shame you lost all those sales but at least you know that they are books that someone wants.
I had a swapsie arrive yesterday, it was described as as new with no damage - it was a hardback, the pages were tanning on the edges (that's me being a bit picky) the boards were a bent on the corners and the dustjacket had 6 tears! I hate giving bad feedback but I just had to, she either geniunely thought that all those points were OK because you could still read the book or she had got in a muddle and described another book not this one but either way I lost an immaculate book for one that I'd feel a bit sheepish giving to a charity shop
edited - I'm up early because were going booting soon, the tension, the excitement, the yawning!0 -
AT that is a good idea about sending the whole of the email to the customer - I should have done it with that Special Delivery one - remember? Anyway, I know for the future. Many thanks as always. I am missing the thanks button!!!!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

purplepatch wrote:Typical - it being a fairly low priced item and me being short on time, I took a chance and posted in a postbox so no proof of purchase either  so I'm not going to get it back either (wondering whether the PO would refund anyway where the item had been incorrectly addressed).
I know from bitter experience that if the address and post code don't match exactly what is in the RM data base they will not pay out.
It has happened to me on more than one occasion, and in one instance a RD item to a major UK university was not refunded as the post code was not in the RM database even though the uni confirmed they had been using it for years.

I've got a strange un!
I've just searched for a book, and it's at £125. However, it doesn't seem anything special, and others in the series are at £2 or so.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Hi Juno,
that's quite a difference - is the high price from American sellers? I've noticed that there seem to be a few who IMHO have very silly high prices and can't imagine how they ever sell anything.
Presumably if it's similar prices on bookfinder and Abe then that's a good result - hope you sell :j

Hi Juno, have you checked bookfinder? big difference between the books prices
Well, as I mentioned earlier we went bootin' and came back with 82 books, now listed and up for sale (there were 83 but one sold within an hour). There was a seller with 2 plastic crates of 63 very good looking paperback novels, I don't even look at novels usually but these were not the mainstream mega names and they were all brand new - the seller used to work for a publisher. I was looking at a few then I thought that I'd ask about buying the lot, we agreed £20. Some had a few light shelf scuffs so they were put in 'used' but the majority were listed as 'new'. There were 4 that were proofs so I couldn't Amazon them but they look like ones I'd read so that's OK.
Has anyone had any experience with selling language courses? I was looking at a French set of 4 tapes but I left it assuming the most people have CDs now0 -
I also have a question, listed a book which was priced quite well, found it using the ISBN but when I was looking at my listings I noticed it was down as a hardback when it is in fact a paperback. When I checked a couple of other used listings one has mentioned it was a softcover. Have looked again on Amazon but there are no paperback versions listed.
My questions are;
I thought there are normally 2 different ISBN for different versions of a book?
Any advice on whether its ok to list it if I mention it is paperback when Amazon have it as harback?? Don't want to mislead anyone or have to issue a refund!
If not any advice on alternatives?
Thanks, Teapot0 -
