I have had a lot of success with children's books, so don't steal all my sales! Some are only at 1p, but they tend to be lighter than adult fiction

I haven't had a sale in 2 days...boo hoo! Weekends are usually good, hopefully it will pick up tomorrow.

It is my 1 year wedding anniversary tomorrow! Very exciting, the year has passed so quickly, it's amazing.

Arrhh! I might be getting my first neg rating on Amazon soon. I sent out a book and the buyer has just emailed me asking for the missing pages 112-145. How on earth did i miss these pages? That is a fair chunk of the book. Oh well, the only thing i could do really was to refund and apologise as i don't have the pages!

Something similar happened to me - I bought a DVD on ebay, then sold it on Amazon, only to receive an irate email from the buyer saying that it was a copy. (I genuinely thought it was original.) I apologised, saying that I'd bought it in good faith myself and didn't realise it was a copy, and offered a full refund on receipt of the returned item, which went through a couple of weeks ago. So far they haven't left any feedback, and hopefully they won't.

Well i have heard back from him and he seems pretty cool. If i was him i would be really annoyed if i bought a book and it was missing pages.

I know from bitter experience that if the address and post code don't match exactly what is in the RM data base they will not pay out.

It has happened to me on more than one occasion, and in one instance a RD item to a major UK university was not refunded as the post code was not in the RM database even though the uni confirmed they had been using it for years.

    Thanks for the info Soo.

So the moral of the story if you are selling anything of any major value, is to check the postcode the buyer has provided against the address.

I'm going to wait to see if she has received the book when she goes back to work Tuesday and if not, will hit her with the incorrect postcode thing. I'm not going to automatically offer a refund yet though - she can wait a bit longer to allow the PO a bit longer to find her.

I expect that I have no option though but to refund her eventually if it still doesn't show, even though it's her fault. Bloody annoying.

Can I just say this is a fantastic thread I've learnt such a lot. I only found it this morning browsing whilst everyone else is in bed! I listed a couple of items a while ago and then had to relist them. Over Easter one of them sold and I was so happy. Stupid really. From reading here I realise one or two things I forgot to do - send a copy of the email from Amazon and put a return address on. But everything went ok and the money landed in my account. Well I know now, amateur that I am.
Yesterday I listed a few more items. So today I am going to go through our bookshelves and see if there is anything else I can list and hunt out a few padded envelopes to put to one side. My intention is just to sell what I no longer want. I feel I can go about it in a better way now. Many thanks.

  • Kaminari - I sympathise with you, I can't say that I've ever checked to see if all the pages are there!
