yay for decluttering! (sorry just caught up on several pages!) I have been decluttering for yonks. I probably don't have that much stuff compared to some people, given that I live alone, but I having moved around a lot in the past few years, and the last two times doing it entirely on my own, I'd really like to have less stuff to shift! Plus most of what I have is fairly meaningless, and not what I would rescue in a fire/flood etc! I still have too many books, but I've managed to get it down to two bookcases more or less (three boxes which I have to decide whether to ebay or charity though!). CDs, I have three of those big ikea units, I'd like to get it down to one! I have too many shoes, and too many clothes (although by most of my female friends standards I have way too few apparently!). Although I do love my little house, it does feel cluttered, because it's so little. Unfortunately for me, I have musical gear which takes up a lot of room, but I can't bear the idea of getting rid of most of it! I figure I'll get rid of the stuff that I'm happy to get rid of first, then think about getting rid of more later if I still feel a little hemmed in!0

This is my mood and thoughts today:
:eek::eek::wall::wall::eek::eek:
I'm taking a leaf out of all your books and spending this week cleaning the house after I go to the gym as part of my 'clean house, clean mind, good university student' ethos I'm taking forward (enrol for my masters on Wednesday! :j)
I started with my floor where there's the main bathroom which I don't use and my housemate's room. I go into the bathroom as part of hoovering everything and find the bathroom hasn't looked like it's been cleaned since... Well... our Eurovision party in May! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Ther sides of the bath were orange with mildewy stuff... Where the shower curtain was (had to boil wash it because the mould was on the whole length of it) the bath was black and new lifeforms were growing on the tiles and grouting... I spent *HOURS* scrubbing that bathroom so it was habitable enough for my folks to use this weekend. I used so much blue Flash that my hands have now gone Blue and I'm furious!
that and I gained 3 kilos from eating way too many cream teas in Cornwall last week!:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good! :beer:
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -

eeewwww walshy :eek: Sounds like fun......not!
I have started to declutter the floor of one side of my wardrobe - a big job! Problem is that a box that had photos in, also had tesco carrier bags in which have bio-degraded and turned into static confetti :rolleyes:
The photos have made me smile and cry at the same time - years gone by when I was thinner, tidier, happier........I need to get back to at least some of that. I'm going to get there - I am determined.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Well done to all the declutterers :beer:. I turned out a few boxes of photos onto my dining table several weeks ago .... and lots of them are still there! So yes, it does look worse before it gets better. I have (with the help of my mother who came to stay for a few days) put some onto album pages, put some aside to send to friends and thrown away the negatives and loads of pics too.
And aren't those disintegrating bags a nuisance when you've stored things in them.
I started on my desk yesterday - I have found 16 "to do" lists so far, written on scraps of paper, some with items crossed off and also some items appear on several lists. So I have been working through some of these lists today and whittled them down to 11. No doubt there are more lists lurking on the big pile yet to be approached.
In between the decluttering, I am still reading my way through your previous diaries. I couldn't tear myself away at the point when you were raising money to send your children to France for the ski season because I couldn't wait to find out how you got on. Hypno, you are amazing... and human too and I am grateful to you for sharing so openly your journey. We all have challenges in our lives and you have shown that whatever life throws at us, we have the opportunity to either let it get to us and turn it into a drama or make a decision to find a way under, over, round or through it. You choose the get around it route every time and this is why you achieve so much.
Loved the man drawer clip - mine has everything in he mentioned except the takeaway menus .... and I'm a girl!!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

Oceanspirit, I never fail to be amazed when people read back over my old diaries! You will obviously relate to much of the stuff though, when you talk about 16 "to do" lists!
Z, the thing is, at the time of those photos, I thought I was huge- looking at the pics now, it is quite clear that I wasn't. My head certainly needs a good talking to in order that it stops deceiving me and sending me into self destruct mode :rolleyes:
I've done one section of my wardrobe, which looks better already, but I am only doing so in between free bingo gamesOh the life I lead :rotfl:

Or just listen to the people telling you that you're fine...
