Hypno,
Sorry that I don't often post but I have been keeping up!
Could you phone Egg to find out why they refused you? It might be something simple or something that applies only to them. Have you seen your credit files recently?CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
I'm right up to date with our credit files - there is nothing adverse on there at all. We are model customers :A
Except we obviously aren't! I have got to go to my download thingy tonight so can't ring Egg until tomorrow, but I will try and get to the bottom of it, because it really narks me! I see so many people on here able to get decent deals, and I can't get one at all!!! OH got a letter from barclays today with a "guaranteed" loan - at the rate of 21.9%!! For goodness sakes, base rate is 0.5%........
I wouldn't mind if we were "adverse"......but we aren't, and we don't even have a huge amount of debt anymore! I just don't get itSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno,
Yes I can see that getting to you...would do with me too.
It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say about it; hope you get it sorted.

It really is unfair and inexplicable. In the last week I've had an offer of a loan at 9% from Egg - and a balance transfer to my Egg credit card at 6.9% LOB. I wish I could donate my creditworthiness to you as I totally don't deserve it. Could it be anything to do with your name or address? Those Norwegian students sullying your postcode?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

It is really odd they wont let you have the loan or any good CC offers?! I know you've had big numbers in the past but your their ideal in that you stick at it and pay it all off ultimately
I did chuckle at your black mark with egg! I do wonder if they mark addresses or names. I had a flamming row with capital one once and they months later turned me down for a CC when I had a perfect record and ticked all their boxes. I just think I'd been marked as stroppy woman. I've recently applied (admittedly savings) at a different address and got approved immediately
My 20 is crisp and unused but only cause I had an evil busy day with no chance to get to shop to spend afraid I don't hope the rest of the week is like that:rotfl:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

HI hypno sorry you can't get good deals... we have been lucky with regard to that...
I might have spent £5.06 on lipstick today... I was on my way to interview- couldn't find my favourite lipstick (that I've had since Xmas) so put a different one on but it looked the wrong colour with my foundation... so bought a new one of the way to interview... THAT WAS INTERVIEW GUYS ... does it still class as non-essential and out of my £20?!:rotfl:
