    ooh, banana bread.....yummy!!

chev - yes you get the prize so far.....but you will have to pass it on should anyone be later than you - I don't have a ready supply of paper hats for all and sundry!!

I have just applied for an egg loan (hahaha) - the idea being that this would be at 11.9% APR compared with the 24.9% APR for my barclayloan, which would save me almost £2000 in interest if I left the thing to run the full term.

Also, Egg can be (as I have proved in the past) paid off early without penalty, so I wouldn't have to save up to pay the whole lot off in one go, as is the case with barclayloan.

    So.......of course......computer says NO.

I am a bit peeved really - I was asking for £10,500 to replace an existing loan, so I am not increasing my borrowing, just moving it around a bit. I have just paid off a £25,000 loan with Egg, in double quick time, so they know I can make the payments. I earn more than I have ever earned before.......I have a squeaky clean credit file.

And still they have the upper hand

Maybe they just know I am a trouble maker as far as their customer service team go. I probably have a black mark on my file for daring to complain in the past

Even so.....I thought I might be able to find an easy way of getting rid of the last bit of debt......but it is not to be, so I just have to stick to plan A.

    :mad::rolleyes::o

Well Egg aren't the only loan company ...er -in the basket.

(I appreciate you won't want too many loan applications on your creditfile but the theory is a good one-might be worth seeing what else is out there)

I know, but I like the fact that Egg allow you to overpay when you can - throwing my odd £10 scratchcard or £4 mystery shopping money at it is a very handy thing to be able to do, and I am not aware of any others that allow you to do that.

I don't really want to take out another fixed term loan that you have to save up for and pay off in one go - I might as well stick with what I have, and use the extortionate interest rate as a motivator to save up quicker to pay it off :o

Bah to egg though - looks like we are never going to be friends again :rotfl:

Hi Hypno! No the paper hat is mine! hand it over chev.

11.9% is still quite high - can you do better than that on a balance transfer to a credit card? I've just had good low LOB offers from both Sainsburys and Virgin. It really does pay to keep your cards open once you've cleared them. Check any empty ones you've got hanging around.

Just about to post that Shaun has left the building when he came back (that was a quick week:rolleyes:) bedtime teddy had been left at our house - major catastrophe at least they had only just got down the road.:D

Lovely family the children are really cute and the parents are not too bad either:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Shaun has a very beautiful wife.

The bad thing is that it is now raining including rumbling thunder not the weather to start the holiday with. I can report Shaun still has his £20 note :D

    15 days only.........

Seax - you know my history of trying to get a good rate :o I've never seemed to manage it so far, no matter what I do. Someone in credit-land has is in for me (again), I am sure! Mind you, it is a good way to stop me taking out any more credit I suppose!

I just wonder what on earth it is that I have done to prohibit me from good offers (or indeed any offers, remember, I couldn't even get a vanquis card!!).......doesn't bode well for me when I want to remortgage!
