Evening - fininshed all the cakes - they are for a big family party taking place next weekend to celebrate mums 8th, Sisters 40th, DD 18th and nieces 10th birthdays!
just got 120 scones to make now!
Sister has arrived from USA but won;t see her till Friday.
Hope everyone has a good week - DS has sold a couple of items on Amazon and has got a full time job for 10 weeks in the grain terminal at Ipswich - better than one shift a fortnight at the local pool!!0 -
Glad all the cakes are finished, surfbabe :T
SH you have NO excuses for the £20 challenge......you are only challenging yourself, not anyone else! Sending positive vibes your way for the phone to ring, mudbath!!
It worked!!!:j I was sat in a new cafe with a friend (I had a free voucher so don't shout at me) and the owner came up to have a chat. I asked if she'd like me to put her cards in my clinic and she said she'd do the same and could she book a massage!!!! I've got my £20 - she's not coming until Tuesday so I can't spend before then!shaun40400 wrote: ».now thats a bit cheeky mudbath!!
£10 a day for us and 20p for hypno would be fairer:o
You spoil all my fun!!!! :rotfl:
Ok, this challenge has come at a seriously good time. After doing the banking we have exactly £2.67 to last the rest of the month after we've paid DDs, food etc so I have to make the twenty last AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. I really need to save it for next week as we're away for 6 days and that can do the ice cream, treats etc. So that's the aim....no spend until Sunday then enjoy the £20.00.
Hope you're all well xxx0 -
Hurrah mudbath :T:T:T That is good going, and perfect timing!!
I know what you mean about the £2.67.......I think we are about the same, with my payday not until 23rd.....so 10 days of uber skintness once again. Mind you, we are getting good at being skint, having had so much practice over the years :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. So I am counting non-committed expenses ie avoidable ones... still hard as I am meeting my sis this week while she does me a favour and I would normally spring for food.... So not counting haircut, cleaneror my newer car I pick up this week, groceries, fuel, swimming if we go - just personal add on spends....
Ok here goes......
We spent £32 on a meal out today (for 4) but the first in weeks..... but this challenge would have concentrated my mind and we might have opted for McDs instead but we were eating at about 3pm an hour and half away from home  (see natural skill at justification :rotfl:/ excuses coming through)Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yes - all avoidable expenses come out of the £20.......It doesn't matter whether it lasts 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months.....the idea is to challenge yourself to make it last a little longer. Then you have an idea as to where your money is going a bit more - sort of a variation on the spending diary idea.......
.....and also to see how easy it is to justify things as "essentials" :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

My purse is pretty much empty too after being on holiday, I love your idea of the £20 Hypno, thank you for telling us about it on another thread and inviting me to join in, I'd love to, sounds like a great idea. Not had a chance yet to read through your whole thread, but I will catch up soon.
