Sold a pair of skis though, for £250 so that is very very useful money that I will have later in the week :T China has to be paid for by the end of the week so it is all very welcome! The students' money should be here in the next couple of days too, so I look forward to getting that

Hi Hypno,
im still reading though your diary have finished reading chapter 2 :j.
Today I was at my sisters house, and someone had given her a poem which I thought was really nice
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road your trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the the debts are high
and you want to smile but have to sigh
you never can tell how close you are, it may seem near though seem so far
So stick with the fight when your hardest hit
its when things seem worse you must not quit.
My sister was very low today because she has money troubles and I told her to keep referring to it because one day her debt will be gone, so I just wanted to share it with you and everyone else to remind you all that you will be debt free one day.

Yummy, can we all come for tea?!
oops, all gone
jackie - I am amazed you are still reading!!! I have that poem on a little card that I keep near me.....it really is so appropriate :T And you are so right - we WILL get there!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno I love reading the diaries on here.
Now I dont want anyone to take this the wrong way, I love reading them because they make me want to keep all my money and the reason I say this is because I have been in debt before got rid of it then got into debt again and I dont want to go there again. It would be so easy for me to go shopping and spend on my credit cards then before you know it, youve ran up thousands of £££££££'s.
this may sound quite sad but I get all excited when I see that people have paid more off their debt.
I hate debt with a passion. I hate having a mortgage and have been seriously considering doing the free bingo and the matched betting to save up any winnings I may get to pay off my mortgage. Im not very "clued up" when it comes to numbers mind you so I might not get the matched betting rules so I dont know if it would be for me. I did consider saying to DH about it, but, he is of the mind that if its not going to pay you out hundreds of £££££'s whats the point in doing it. He doesnt see it my way in that even if you win a penny its a penny you didnt have in the first place and every little does help.
Oh well, I will read it and see how it goes.
I hope you dont mind me posting and reading your diary.

Post away, jackie! I certainly don't mind!!
How about putting your mortgage into the snowball calculator. Then see how much you pay in interest over the term and what your mortgage free date is.
Then work out what you might "earn" from the free bingo/matched betting stuff etc - say £50 a month, or £100 a month......and add it into the snowball, and see what the saving is in interest and what difference you make to your mortgage free date!
Keep playing around with the figures, and show OH and he might see things differently!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi hypno - I thought you'd gone away... I was subscribed to your old diary but didn't read the last post until today! Oops - so I've just spent ages catching up!
Happy holiday Shaun
Well done to all those doing the £20 challenge... I really should but..... (looks round for handy excuses.....) I think Shelley's idea re the money amounts seemed fair....
Hypno I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to criticize you - you are absolutely amazing and are doing an absolutely fab job. You are paying off debt in difficult circumstances, supporting your OH in a job he loves but which doesn't pay enough while allowing your kids expensive hobbies - sound a pretty dedicated and special person to me...!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
