    Thanks becky!

I am covered in scratches and nettle stings from my gardening exploits - I have soaked in the bath, but already feel my back protesting at the work done :o

Passes over epsom salts:D Congrats on all hard work, you will be so looking forward to a holiday now.:D

Hi again .... Hypno, thats a good idea for the garden and the house, looking at it as an investment to sell, plus it has to be a pleasant environment to live in in the meantime. Its how I've viewed mine for a while now - I never got attached to this place somehow, in spite of the fact that it is quite characterful, for an estate house. Funny how these things go. Anyway, the plan hasn't worked too well so far :o but if you're doing it too now, maybe thats a rocket up my *rse.... you're doing the outside of the house first? Okay, on the outside of the house, mine needs:
    - white panel under the main window to be painted (s*dding neighbour painted his, now even that looks bad)
    - handrail up to the front door to be stripped down and painted.
    - remainder of overhanging branches to be sawn off.
    - little patio space at the front to be partially relaid (by me... hmm.... how long would that last? long enough).

    That'll do for now :o

Actually, a glass of wine would do nicely.....OH is doing the taxi-ing around this evening so I don't have to go anywhere.

I could celebrate my NSD at the same time :D ooh, and finally reaching payout level on dooyoo :D:D

Oh, and I have cleaned my smaller fridge out today too.....gradually getting there, but very baby steps still!

And my ironing basket has sprouted more work for me......

Not all the outside jobs will be done in August - as I count windows as an outside job.....but the following will count:
    • Clear the overgrown garden - Front and Back. Gravel the areas that are prone to weed and don't seem to do anything else, regardless of what we try!
    • We have two driveway areas, one concreted, one gravel. The gravel one needs weedkilling, raking the old peashingle up which has got sparse over the years, and laying a new layer of bigger gravel that doesn't get caught in car tyres.
    • Empty the old luggage trailer that sits in the drive, and get rid of the trailer - it belongs to FiL, so if he doesn't want it back, it can be sold or given away.
    • Clear the paths all the way round the house.
    • Clear the gutters on the house and garage
    • Fill the old pond which is now empty, and extend the patio over it.
    • Replace broken slab on step before someone breaks an ankle
So, quite a big job really and we can't afford to get anyone in to do it, so will have to just hope the evenings provide good weather and I can just get on and do it.

Tomorrow I am going to see a friend in the afternoon, so hopefully I can do a bit more digging and weeding tomorrow morning (back ache permitting of course!).

My neighbours must look on our house as "letting the street down" - everyone else keeps a neat and tidy exterior at least......I bet they have been cursing us ever since we moved in!

Wow, thats huge! Those are big jobs, but you're right, this is the time to do it. There won't be much gardening for me if I try to get my "outside house" jobs done, but I'll nab another of your tasks - I need to clear the gutters too, and saw off some branches that are waving over them, dropping stuff into them. Oh boy. I'd better get well, hadn't I!

We have a gardener for our gated garden - thank goodness - gardening scares me

I keep meaning to say - I'm with the others on egg first then chicken (b'card) :D
