I recently got a Travel Money Card from The Post Office which was activated the following day. Just a small fee associated with loading it and certainly saved me £30 on Ryanair fees.:j

    Superkeen2save or anyone else:

What do you put for card holders name and billing address etc?

I had a kind response from someone else on another forum saying that when people use entropay to pay for ryanair flights they put 'Entropay User' as the card holders name - should i be putting Travel Money Card User for example?

I keep getting declined when i try to use it to book a flight

do you know what i could be doing wrong?

as the card doesn't have my name on it, and i presume has no billing address?

    Thanks in advance all :)

Many thanks for all the information on this thread. The Ryanair extra credit/debit card charge has always irritated me a great deal. After reading this thread I applied for the Halifax account last week and this morning I received all the related papers and my Electron card :T. This has got to be the easiest account I have ever opened and I can now toddle off and book my flights to Alicante :D ¡Hasta luego!

Note that the information on MSE about Travelex currency cards is incorrect - it is NOT free to re-load these cards. I got a GBP version, reloaded by transfer from my bank account (there is no online re-load option) and it cost 2%. I queried this with Travelex and got a response that this was correct.
  • Has anyone successfully used a FairFx card to avoid airline booking fees?
  • Has anyone applied Entropay plastic card and been using it since beginning of this year?

Any up-to-date information of avoiding ryanair handling fees, pls?

    Thanks a lot
