OK, so "worst case" is something that can be lived with for a while - that takes a lot of pressure off you.
Of course it is not ideal, very little in this game is, but of course this is not going to be a long term situation, and if your debt busting slows down temporarily, then so be it - once you are both working, you can get back to full pelt.
In the meantime, get him signed up to scratchcards too, mystery shopping and clicks and surveys in his own name.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
In a strange way, it might help ease the situation slightly between me and OH. He has never really understood my budgeting and paying pennies into pots and has just left me to it. His outlook on life is very much treat orientated and will spend money "because it's a Friday" Or "because he's feeling under the weather". But now he has had to start thinking about how he is going to stretch his money over the next few weeks and what impact that will have, how he can make changes etc.
I've started him off on his sales of CD's etc and he's looking into his bank charges now too. He loves the scratchies idea too so he'll be on to those at the wknd!
He seems quite shocked at how much I know! :rotfl:
No other news as such, water bill paid, re-direction of mail from old business address paid and all £1 token payments paid. So I'm now on official countdown to PAYDAY!!

I always try to stay positive, much easier said than done but I'm very much aware that things could be worse so I plod on!
I (probably quite foolishly) thought that The Inland Revenue would be more on the ball than any others involved when closing a business, but they have been really lacksie-daisy. Despite requesting to de-register for VAT several times since ceasing to trade, sending in last VAT Returns, re-writing to them to remind them that I've not heard from them etc, I finally had a response today!
Thanking me for my letter of 15th October 2009 (er...no, that's the date of this letter you have sent to me!) telling me to fill in the form I've already filled in and to fill in the enclosed VAT Return Form (which wasn't enclosed)
Ah, it's just come to me....it's in a repayment state. They owe me money! That explains it! If I owed them I'm sure it would be very very different!! :rotfl:Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

OH's last day at work today. He is gutted. But he has himself an appointment on Monday morning about his Job Seekers (quite impressed with their quick response to his online form filling on Tuesday night, they rang Wednesday morning) And he has a phone interview this afternoon (for a job I know he will hate but he's going for all that he can at the moment)
No news to report from the Postie, despite a pile of letters landing yesterday (strike not affecting just yet!) I know they say no news is good news but I do worry more when all goes quiet on the creditor front
5 days til PAYDAY for me

I think i may start the colouring of squares soon...it is a good visual aid.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

12.20pm yesterday, text from OH - "I'm bored" !!
Not working does not suit him at all! He had a busy morning too, job centre appt, phone calls chasing leads on possible jobs (one sounded quite promising - decent money, his area of expertise and all over the UK, which he enjoys, just not quite ready for newbies yet-boo. But they will 'keep him in mind' for the next available post)
He's on the case today too so fingers and toes crossed!
Having a bit of a mare with my old personal account with LTSB. It hasn't closed down yet as my business accounts and CC are linked to it but it has been inactive for around a year.
However a few weeks ago, an unexpected dividend from a couple of shares got paid in as they only still have those bank details on file. I attempted to move the money across to my current account straight away, noticed it hadn't appeared so attempted again. I received a letter last week to say that I'd tried to take funds out that aren't available and as I don't have an agreed overdraft the request had been deniedIt is still showing on the balance though.
Being as I have a default on the CC with them and they are notorious for 'setting off', it could be that they have 'stolen' it as payment, but this is not showing on the CC statement nor the bank account statement, just that the money is THERE! Arrgh!
I'm trying to draft a letter but not too sure how to word it. I know that they are in their 'rights' unfortunately to set it against the CC but it's JUST SAT THERE! :rotfl:It's a £112 which will make a HUGE difference to us over the next few weeks until OH (hopefully) gets a job.
So, hoity toity Hiiiyaa!! letter demanding the cash or pleading creeping letter outlining financial hardship??

Thanks savingholmes!
Think it's one I'll have to sleep on.
I'm thinking that actually, I could get quite heavy on them. I've had that account for many years with more than my fair share of charges. After my unexpected success with my A&L bank charges, it might be worth trying them too. Keeping my money from me and taking it from me! Double hiiiyaa!!Pround to be dealing with my debts!
