HI Rainy glad you had some good news - that is an excellent reduction. So good that they managed to release the property!

I'm really surprised that they have managed to let the property. The whole street its on is now a ghost town (as is much of the 'independent' shopping area of Nottingham nowadays) Plus it has significant damp problems... But that's not my concern anymore! :D

It does mean now that my snowball has made a turn for the better...

Less than 9 years til my DEBT FREE DATE: October 2018 :T

Not including the mortgage. But maybe I'll get brave half way through and include that too...

More trouble and strife from The AA...

Despite accepting my token £1 monthly offer (and me adhering fully to the agreement) I have continued to get third party letters from a DCA (Albion) and now a particularly unpleasant lot from some 'solicitors' (Blair Oliver and Scott Ltd)

I have complained to The AA and to these solicitors about this harrassment and both have chosen to ignore me (surprised?!)

Now I have a legal action pending letter from the solicitors. Not heard a word from The AA, they have just continued cashing my mothly payments as usual. (all correspondence recorded delivery etc)

But because now I'm in the position where I want to increase my monthly payments, I of course don't want to start paying the wrong party and it not hitting my debt!! I've requested to know who actually owns the debt now but this has been ignored.

One step forward, two steps back :wall:

Hi Rainy all sounds complicated. Nice that your DFD is improving significantly. It starts to feel like there really is light at the end of the tunnel then doesn't it!

:bdaycake:Very happy birthday to you happy%20birthday%20sign.gif

Just to complicate the matter further, I received another letter from Blair, Oliver and Scott today (dated the day after they sent their computer generated nasty one) accepting my £1 token monthly payment (which was already in place with The AA )

It tells me to pay them directly now and they are acting on behalf of their client Bank of Scotland (who I believe powers the AA financial bit). I'm going to try and dig a little today and find out if The AA have passed the debt on or not. I don't want to stop paying them and jeopardise our agreement because no one seems to know who owns the debt now!

Thanks for birthday wishes savingholmes  had a nice, quiet MSE one! It was actually one of the better birthdays I've had as my family and friends got me small, more personal gifts that were all surprises. I requested no big spending and all stuck to it.

Off to check how my Ebay items are doing....:D

I've decided to dedicate a lot of THE DEBT POT to clearing the Business Rates. I was planning on using that money solely on my higher interest debts, however I'm going to continue to Snowball those as planned for a little while longer.

    Main reasons being that
    a) It's a nigh on impossible job to get our Council to agree to a payment plan
    b) They are the most likely out of all to head for Bailliffs/court action
    c) It's an achievable chunk of debt which I can get rid of. Psychologically just seeing that will boost me no end :o

    Good newsies....

Ebay items collectively up to £40.97 :j

OH is starting a temporary job on Monday :j He ain't gonna like it (it's office bound and he's a manual man) but I have to give it to him he's biting the bullet and giving it a go. He's been told by his contact at a recruitment agency that he is actually perfect for his dream job, but they only set on twice a year. So he's being kept on file for that and doing this in the meantime. Ironically this temp job is the highest earning job he's had to date!

So going crazy and having a bottle of wine and a pizza tonight (not takeaway one, a Mr Asda special :money: :rotfl:)

I think it is sensible to pay the business rates, as I guess they could be classed as "priority" along with council tax etc.

Also, it is a good chunk gone, and you will replenish that debt pot in no time.

I hope this motivates you to continue - you have come such a long way in a short space of time - I am proud of you!!

I agree with hypno I would see them as a priority debt
