Work is going really well thank you :D

I do have moments throughout the day where I do a little 'thank you' speech in my mind! So thankful to have a job! It's a lovely place to work and I enjoy it so that's an added bonus. I'm hoping I'll be able to be here for some time to come :T Fingers crossed!

I'm going to start my lists again as I tend to get bogged down with the thought of stuff but never actually achieve anything! I have though blitzed the house over the past couple of days (thanks to the [STRIKE]guilty feelings[/STRIKE] inspiration over on Hypno's thread! So apart from a general tidy, there'll be no housework this weekend! :T

    1. Tidy up THE DEBT FOLDERS and make sure all my paperwork and letter writing is up to date
    2. Create a list of creditors I can be pro-active with - giving them a gentle nudge ;)
    3. Update my imoney manager income and expenditure ready to send when my £1 agreements end next month.
    4. Compose (from the National Debtline template) my F&F letters ready to send MONDAY MORNING!
    5. Take my books in to Ikea to exchange for £5 voucher :j:money:
I really should put Ebay on the list...:o but I know I won't achieve it this weekend. But...if it's on the list I HAVE to try...

    6. EBAY EBAY EBAY!!!

Hi Rainy sounds like things are going well. We got £15 in vouchers last week as 3 of us went in with books!

Slightly scared to go over my list as it may well be that I hvaen't achieved much of it! :o

Nothing new to report, just ticking along with the fear of impending doom that comes with the 'quieter' periods!

 Received a mind-blowingly maddening letter from M&S yesterday. A default notice. Not too shocking due the the debt I have with them BUT this was for their PET INSURANCE which I didn't even renew this time round! I made the 12 monthly payments as required and when the renewal notice came through, the price had shot up significantly so I found a much cheaper one, of course! :money:Now M&S has sent a default notice for the ONE missed payment of the new higher amount :eek::mad:

I fired back their blurb about MY breach of the 1974 Consumer Credit Act politely telling them of their own breach! Hiiiyaa!!

Such a silly thing but it bugged me all night :o

As in the balance of life, this week has had good news and bad news.

    The Good News...

From my letters to Alliance and Leicester re: the ridiculous charges which took me into my overdraft creating a never-ending spiral of charges! They wrote to me saying that they would re-emburse £400 which I was over the moon about as that covered a £42 direct debit :T

BUT then a cheque landed on the mat for £103.13! :j I had only politely asked them to look into the charges that had the overdraft spiralling out of control but they covered the whole back catalogue :T

A BANK doing MORE than you ask them to?!!?:beer: Unheard of! :rotfl:

    The Bad News...

OH was made redundant this week. He finishes next Friday  No redundancy pay, but some holiday pay due. Tough times ahead. He hates the thought of being without work so he is already motivated to find another one but we all know it's not as easy as that! He is happy to take bar shifts or anything to tide him over so hopefully something will come up.

Leaves me in a awkward position as obviously I need his contributions towards our living costs but if he's not earningm, can I justify still asking for them?! He knows I'm in no position to support him.

Things could be much worse though so I'm still thinking positively - as much as I can anyway!

Time for a new SOA based on the "worst case scenario" methinks - better to be prepared than not!

Hopefully though, with a postive attitude and a willingness to take work of any kind, he will get something sooner rather than later - fingers crossed.

At least there is seasonal work about which could take him through to January.....

Good idea for the 'worse case scenario' SOA Hypno, I'll get that done this afternoon.

I'm taking this afternoon of work (with thanks to our office's version of Flexi-Time) just to blitz my paperwork and THE DEBT FOLDER

OH is very unfussy about what he does but will get very unhappy very quickly if he doesn't like something!

Hi Rainy - Sorry to hear the bad news re OH's job - that is so tough. Great that you have some savings tho - it will make a huge differenence

Is the benefits you've put in job seekers - as it is around £64.30 a week. The first 3 days are waiting days - so he needs to apply via the internet a week tomorrow so he misses out on the fewest number of days

Check out the website entitledto - to see if there are any other benefits he can claim for.

Perhaps get him to look into the Make £10 a day challenge too

Glad you got the bank charges back and that is now sorted. How annoying about the pet insurance too

It's not great news but it just means we need to up the :money: way!

He's already sorted out a huge pile of CD's, DVD's and books for Amazon and we've both sat down with the sums. I've not introduced him to my world of spreadsheets yet though! :o

Luckily he had been saving up for a weekend break with his friends, my birthday and Xmas so that fund will come in useful now too.

Thank you for the heads up on the 3 waiting days for the job seekers' savinghomes  I claimed it briefly quite a few years ago but I've been to sleep since then :rotfl:

Another letter in red writing today. A particularly threatening one from a debt collectors claiming on behalf of my AA Loan. This is the second debt colletion agency that has come after me about this loan. I have already replied to them to politely explain that I am currently in a monthly payment agreement with their client but they have chosen to ignore my letter (not too surprised there then )

The usual blurb of collectors turning up and legal action occuring. I'm slightly confused about the chasing to this extent when I am in a payment agreement with the original lender

I will try and get an answer from The AA to see if they will tell me who actually owns the debt now, even though I am still currently paying them directly. Not sure if they give that information out

Just another bump in the rollercoaster! :p
