Just clearing things in my mind as to where I stand on everthing!

1 Lloyds TSB Personal Loan £7878 -Accepted F&F Settlement of £1958 FIRST ONE PAID AND CLEARED!! :j

That is such a great result! I agree with the others, I would get rid of the two smallest bills they are not worth the aggro!

    Thanks all!

Yes, the niggly wiggly ones are to be gone this week. They just fell into the blanket of debts and letters being sent out just to keep them at bay really but now my first proper payday has arrived they can go! That dwindles the numbers and gives me almost 2 squares to colour in!

Thanks turfy – I like the idea for my next goal to be getting them into single figures.

I’ve had a few problems again with The AA Loan, another debt collection agency involving themselves. I have referred them to my current agreement with The AA and my eight previous letters sent in regards to this matter.

Well well, looking at Septembers 'books', I was £34 under my grocery budget and spent quite literally HALF of what I did in August! :j

To be fair August did see the MOT, Service, OH's Birthday and a trip to the seaside. But I'm still glad to see the actual drop in expenditure! And rise in income due to steady job and car booting! So, as a result, I can add £650 to the debt pot!! :j

It is what to do with it that I'm still pondering. I might add that this is in addition to my current minimal monthly payments. I have my snowball at the ready but I really want to try for an F&F settlement first before I start clearing my highest interest ones with larger monthly payments. If only for the mentality of clearing another debt!

    I'm still researching! :D

Feel like it’s been a bit of a wasted weekend really! House is a tip due to last week not feeling great and then taking it extra easy this weekend to get rid of the last bits of lurgi!

There was the silver lining of the car boot yesterday. Had a flurry of interest in some stuff before I’d even got it out of the car! Not as busy as passed couple of weeks (the infamous Goose Fair is on in Nottingham so I think that’s where all the spending has gone!) but still a nice £45 to add to whichever pot I choose, plus a small patch of bedroom number 2 floor reappearing. :j

I’m feeling that October is to be the month I re-kick myself up the btm! I have slacked over the past 2 months I feel and just don’t think I’ve been as pro-active about my situation as I started out to be.

First things first – carry on researching F&F Settlements. Not done too much on that as yet :o I want to make a start with this ASAP as after over 3 months of scrounging and saving and ebaying and car booting and picking pennies up off the floor I have £2,700 in the dept pot ready to be dished to those who are *kind* enough to accept some kind of settlement from me!

Actually, that’s quite a chunk! And this is with me slacking! I’m quite proud of that!! Grr though  imagine what it might have been if I was full throttle!

I want to clear the credit cards first if possible. I know they are not the largest amounts I owe but they are the highest interest ones and I think possibly the more difficult to come to an arrangement, so I’ll tackle them head on.

M&S - £3,047 – current monthly agreement £1, after agreement ends my monthly offer will be £8.28
Halifax - £3,200 – current monthly agreement £1, after agreement ends my monthly offer will be £10.36
Sainsbury’s £1,900 – current monthly agreement £1, after agreement ends my monthly offer will be £7.06
Lloyds - £2,920 – No agreement achieved, currently with their collections Solicitors (pro-rata offer to be £9.65)
Barclaycard £2,200 – No agreement achieved, currently with Mercers (pro-rata offer to be £7.82)

All monthly offers will still be very low as a pro-rata of my available funds across my high number of creditors. I’m not sure if this makes my case for an F&F stronger or not.

M&S is my first to get tackled as it is the highest interest of all the cards. I’m just battling with what my opener will be!

My F&F with Lloyds was an incredible one - around 25% of the original debt. And yet I can't even get an acknowledgment from the Lloyds CC people

Phew! Sorry for the looooooong post!!

Just having a mini-rant in my head.

I resent having to pay this debt back so much. Although it was obviously me who has spent on these cards and loans and overdrafts, it was all for a business that doesn't exist anymore

The only personal debt amongst the £90K odd amount is for £850 worth of Council Tax which I put on a credit card when times were extremely tough

I had never owed money before in my life and now I am battling to pay back everything through slight business naivity on my part and some pretty crabby advice from supposed mentors.

Would it be better if I had a wardrobe full of designer clothes, photo albums full of exotic places from wonderful holidays, a new car, a larger house? :rotfl::rotfl:

Hmm, I know the answer really

Feeling a little more motivated today and getting back on track with my proactive promise!

Yesterday I did a dozen Dooyoo reviews and today I aim to do the same-slowly building up sloooowly.

I cleared up THE DEBT FOLDER this morning (although not completely finished, it had been somewhat neglected :o) so I'm feeling slightly more organised.

Had a couple of nasty letters to deal with that were sent to my old business premises - one from Wescot and one from Moorcroft, two of my good friends :rotfl:

Also had a letter from my old electricity supplier out of the blue saying that I owe them £57! I left them around a year ago and have not heard anything since. So hiiiyaa!! letter over to them asking for their meter readings and mystery final bill (all was paid via monthly direct debit so actually I will be double checking that they don't OWE ME money, which is the more likely scenario come to think of it!!)

I've also requested a good couple of hours on Saturday for OH to disappear while I get THE DEBT FOLDER up to date and the rest of my paperwork sorted. Luckily he is on Mission: 'Get In Good Books' so there was no resistance!

MUST EBAY MUST EBAY MUST EBAY!

Glad you are still on track - Your new offers are better than nothing - hopefully they will see it that way!

    Thanks savinghomes

The offers are terrible but it's a genuine pro-rata of what's available at the end of the month! Such a huge number of creditors really doesn't help the cause :o

I’ve spent the past couple of days scouring MSE and the internet sucking up all the info I can on F&F’s and then on reccomendation - CCA’s. I’ve stumbled onto a confusing mass and have decided to go straight to 35% F&F offers on the Credit Cards as a starting point. Despite being tempted by a few on other threads to get CCA’s first it is another mass of letters and time and waiting around for more answers that I really couldn’t cope with at the moment. Although I resent the debt hugely I will try to pay it back as best I can.

If my F&F’s aren’t accepted up to 60% after negotiations, I might then explore the CCA route again as I will need more time to raise funds to go into the Dept Pot

    Brain officially frazzled :o
