Wow, surprising how little time you have when you take some time off!
Bit scared to check the list to see how little I've done but here goes...1. The DEBT FOLDER and my Hiiiyaa!! letters that need doing. Organised debt folder - yay! But still some letters to get done and posted - boo
2. Finish off woodwork painting in living room (this is on EVERY list - do not ignore - no excuses. Masking tape - check. Paint - check. Brush - check. Cat likely to cause mayhem - check.) DONE!! Even finished the bathroom off while I was at it! Doing things even if not on list is an extra 50 points!
3. Gravel the last bit of garden before the weeds start growing again! Nope. Would've done if OH hadn't decided to cut a tree down and leave it all over the garden, plus days of rain
4. Turn house into photographic studio and take pics of ALL stuff for Ebay. This is going to be a loooooooooooooong job but necessary for my £400 a month target! Ooh so close, only a few more items to go! Yay!
5. Doctors, dentist, plumber, car serviced Unfortunately no servicing of men in uniform :rotfl:but all sorted, mended and healthy.
Have also got house straight and organised, up to date on all housework and spent some time with family which has been great. Plus 30 odd parcels packed and sent, with more listings on too! All in all, list looking healthy - hoorah!
I'm saving all the fun stuff for tomorrow - spreadsheets and snowballs and coloured charts
Will hopefully have some figures and numbers to share and get my head round tomorrow. And catch up on the other DFWs diaries!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Dear Diary....
Sorry for abandoning you for so long!
I did write a couple of lengthy updates last week but for some reason lost them both when submitting and couldn’t squeeze in a re-write!
Well, it has been a busy, busy couple of weeks, which has been great and very uplifting! I cracked everything on my list (oh, except the dentist) plus a few extra bits too (although now I’ve been at work again the house has fallen back into slight disarray!)
New job is going well and I do find myself saying “thank you” in my head a few times a day to no one in particular! :jVery tired from learning lots of new things so my Ebaying has slipped slightly, but will be catching up with that this weekend to get the ball rolling again! Also slowed down on it slightly because Paypal has held my account as I’ve exceeded the allowed limit! Annoying and impressive all in one go! Will upgrade that at the weekend too.
Budget wise I am still within my shopping budget for this month and we have cut out alcohol to which has (embarrassingly) really cut down what we spend! Also having fabulous NSD’s as I now walk or cycle to work (took the last lot of tree to the tip at the weekend and picked up a pretty decent bike for a bargainous £10! :money:I’m wobbly but will persevere) I take my own lunch and hot drinks are free between 10.30am and 11.15am :money: for my morning brew and a massive 20p at all other times. Managing to avoid all temptations of the numerous cafes and shops on campus (although my magazine weakness still gets my £1.50 a week
)
The DEBT FOLDER has been sorted. I now have a folder dedicated to creditors who have accepted my monthly payment offer, which I’m happy to report is looking quite healthy. It also includes the STAT DEMAND I received a letter from the solicitors accepting my offer of payment for 6 months. Really pleased to know where I stand on that now, it has put my mind at ease (as much as it can be anyway)
Still getting red letters, of course, but hiiiyaa – ing away at them! I will update my list of creditors with payment plans in place to help me keep track!
Have had dodgy internet at home over past couple of weeks so dying to catch up on the other diaries!
Hope you are all well :APround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Hiiiyaa!
The latest victim of my Hiiiyaa! letters is Three, who have been messing me around for months.
I sent them my original letter when I started facing financial difficulties (as I did with all creditors) and they replied to say that they understand and are willing to help to find a solution and set up managable payments (the debt is a low one £80 from the business mobile broadband dongle whatsit)
Cue dozens of red letters from 3 debt collection companies now, each worse than the previous company! The latest claims to have done searches to confirm my residency at my address and accuse me of ignoring their clients requests for payment. Also the usual threats of doorstep collections agent calling round, legal action against me and Default Notices being issued.
Cue my polite pointing out of the error of their ways - with evidence
It does make me sick to the stomach and also jump a mile high whenever someone walks up the driveway, as much as I try not to let it. And that is what it does to me, a slightly hardened positive thinker getting wise to the scare tactics that can be used. I really feel for those not so used to this and the effect it must have on them. It is just disgusting.
Rant over!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Good to see you 'getting on' with things, Rainy. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Didn't get any Ebaying done over the weekend
but I've come in £28 under my shopping budget for this month and £90 under the general budget for August :T (already calculated to include this week as should technically be full of NSD's so hopefully no major emergencies or chocolate weaknesses!)
Looks like the supplier I still hold all the stock for is not simply going to play ball and come and collect it - a letter to threaten legal proceedings has arrived.
I cannot count the times that I have told them that the stock is theirs whenever they want to come and get it (it was on a sale or return agreement) plus replies saying that this is what they are goin to do, but now the third party is saying they want the £49,628.00 :eek:
Trying to muster up a Hiiiyaa! Not quite got it in me today though...
I have had a letter from my LSTB loan though offering a full and final settlement offer. I feel like biting their hand off for it but I'll obviously have a good think about it. It would lower my debt and allow me to pay more to other creditors, shortening my repayment time by approx 2 years and 3 months.
The debt currently stands at £8091 and they are offering a full and final settlement of £1958 (which I would be able to get into place from sale of my car) I'm sure sure how set in stone this amount is and whether it's worth trying to negotiate further? Or whether that will scare them off. Just not sure what's for the best really. Seems like a good offer but I'm worried of being naive just because I want to get my debt out of the way as quickly and pain free as possible!

Wow, that is a good offer from lloyds - just make sure it is marked as satisfied in full so they cannot come back and ask you for the rest at a later date.
Re the big supplier's bill - I would take all your copies of correspondence and make a free half hour appointment with a solicitor. It may well be that one carefully worded letter from a solicitor, which will cost you £50 or so may be enough to get them off your back......and therefore well worth the money.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
