excellent offer from lloyds, but make sure you get everything signed and stamped etc. last thing you need is someone to ask for it at a later point. sounds like the people at your supplier are not talking to each other, do what Hypno said and hopefully it will get them talking a bit!?!
Date I decided to clear my debt: 03/12/08
    Debt started with: Loan - 2195, Credit Card - 1738, Interest free overdraft -500 = TOTAL - 4433
    Current Debt: Loan - 0, Credit Card 1 - 1346, Credit Card 2 - 906 Interest free overdraft -0 = TOTAL - 2252
  • Wow that is a brilliant offer, as others say Rainy, check the small print and wording re F+F. Hope you can take adavantage of Hypno's advice and get a solictors letter on the go.

Well, not a happy bunny today. :(

Good news on the front of the ltsb F&F settlement, I have had all the paperwork through to confirm that neither them nor another agency will chase me for the money remaining and that my credit reference file will be updated. PLUS in a last ditch attempt to get all the parties involved in that supplier dispute, they have FINALLY come through, provided the documentation I was hoping for and collected the lot last Thursday :)

So, I had a 'weekend off' of thinking about all this stuff and concentrated on housey bits and bobs and enjoyed our 2 year anniversary meal (complete with vouchers :money:)

Today a flurry of letters that offend me the most-the "you have not done a thing" letters. Yet another party for Barclaycard, A&L for my overdraft, Halifax, M&S and Sainsbury's credit cards. Plus another party now in the mix for ltsb credit card.

I know that they are actually the easiest ones to deal with. I have my standard polite replies. Must not take them personally :o

But, I received a rather nasty letter from the franchisor of the business I ran. It appears that a bailiff agency for the council are chasing them for the business rates on my old premises and they have emailed the council to say they have contacted the police and that I am committing fraud by impersonating them to avoid my debts :mad::eek::mad:

They are ticked off as many of my creditors have contacted them (despite my constant correspondence with them all attempting to take it all with me as sole trader, not part of the Ltd company at all) and despite me taking all the responsibility, this seems to be the straw that broke the camels back and they have decided not to simply notify me but try to ruin me. I have that horrible sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach :(

I have no idea what to do. I have corresponded with the Council constantly since leaving the premises, I just hope I can get to them before they take things any further

Ooh, sorry for the long post, you wouldn't know things are playing on my mind!

    Feel slightly better today

I sought some advice on the allegations and confirmed really what I already knew - that it is a load of rubbish and nasty scare-mongering. And above all easily sorted as I am not in the wrong at all (lazy companies seeing a name and matching it at Companies House and going for it, not checking the actual trading as name). But the fact is that I have to sort it, feeling like I am constantly adding to the list of things to sort rather than tick any off!

Again, I felt attacked at what is proving to be my most sensitive area - the being accused of not doing things to sort my situation. When this is, in fact, the only thing that consumes my thoughts and spare time!

Hi Rainy - despite the scare mongering letters - it sounds like things are improving with your previous suppliers having picked up their belongings and F&FS offer? You are doing really well under trying circumstances..... you will get thro this...

  • I have taken a leaf out of Hypno's book and created a beautiful array of squares to be coloured in!

I've done it to represent £45K made up of loans, credit cards and business overdraft (each square represents £50). There is more to my debt I know and I am not ignoring it or forgetting about it (as if I could!) but this is the chunk I am paying interest on and/or have payment plans in place. The debts regarding my business premises and rates etc are not finalised totals so I have made a separate sheet of rough estimates until I can arrange a payment plan for those too.

So, although it may seem like a drop in the ocean, I am newly inspired by my 39 coloured in squares :T

    Only 861 to go...

I've upped my coloured square chart consumption with a savings chart for Christmas.

I'm usually very good with sticking to a budget for Xmas but being as there is not much of a budget at the mo I thought I'd start saving what bits I can.

My first step towards this is bringing my own tea bags to work instead of paying 20p a time! I use the milk and sugar for free :money:

    One small step for Rainy...
