Was just typing "organised christmas" into google as i'd never even heard of the site until I read about it on this thread and ended up stumbling across the most brilliant site called "organised mum" - you've probably all seen their stuff before but they sell lovely diaries with meal plan sections and loads of other little gorgeous bits and pieces. Anyway, to cut a long story short - I went looking for a website that could save me some money and instead found one that ended up costing me £25...bloody typical! LOL.
Organised mum things are brilliant, I use the family life book- it has really helped get me and my family organised (has a good christmas section too) :-)(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
Trying to catch up on all the posts, and to get myself organised- on holiday at the moment but went to the local shop here and got a notepad to get me started- loving everyones ideas. I don't know if this has already been mentioned but a gift that went down really well last year for grandparents. I drew around my daughters hands ( and my own) to make stencil then using scraps of pretty paper cut out lots of them. Then wrapped each around the top of a straw to make flowers which then made into bunches and placed in a decorated jar as a vase. :-) nice personal touch and very cheap :-)(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0

We do now have a Range shop in Chatham Dockside Outlet Centre and our old Woolworths opened as a big 99p store so getting a bit better.
Our boot fair had a sign up the other day saying they were moving to somewhere near Strood so wont be able to get to that anymore by foot which will be a shame.
Ooo I'm not a million miles away from you and Footballmanagerwidow. I used to live in Bexley but I'm now in Woolwich.
I've been to the outlet centre in Chatham once, it's great isn't it?! I'm definitely going to go back. I think The Range's craft stuff is a real rival to Hobbycraft, they have so much and things that Hobbycraft don't even have.0 -

Lucy - Thanks so much for all the info, i'm really excited about doing hampers this year - i'm only going to do them for the adults though I think, the kids usually have lists so they're pretty easy to buy for! I just find the adults are so hard to buy for and you end up spending loads on something they're probably not going to be that keen on anyway. Hopefully with a little bit of forward planning i'll end up with somthing really impressive for less than i'd usually spend!
That's k, glad I could help.
I've dug out my present list from last year and here's the contents of another hamper I did last year for my boyfriend's mum:
A perfume atomiser (about three pounds from The Body Shop)
A mini sewing kit (one or two pounds from Morrisons)
A mini shower gel set (M&S outlet store, couple of pounds)
Christmas bath bubbles (Avon £1 from last year's January's sale)
Strawberry scented candle (Poundland)
Rotating ashtray (Poundland)
A luxury body puff thing (The Body Shop, a couple of pounds)
A mini hairbrush (The Body Shop, a couple of pounds)
A dream catcher (£1.75 from a bits and bobs shop)
Turkish delights - her favourite (Poundland)
Bottle of her favourite alcohol
I filled the hamper with metalic blue shredding as it is her favourite colour. She loved it as it was a really personally thought out present.
I did two garden hampers, the first had:
Ladies patterned garden tools (Poundland)
Four soaps tied with straw (Poundland)
Grow your own peppermint tea - the receipent's favourite (Poundland)
Truffles (Poundland)
A luxury flannel (The Body Shop)
A nail brush (unwanted gift from a pamper present)
Gardening gloves (Wilkinsons)
Gardening book
Second gardening hamper:
World's best gardener mug (Wilkinsons)
Gardener's soap (Wilkinsons)
Kneeling matt (Wilkinsons)
Prodding soil stick (Poundland)
5 year gardening diary and planner (Wilkinsons)0 -
