Hello all :j
Well am I relieved ..................:j
After not hearing anything yesterday a letter came in the post this morning saying OH had appt. yesterday ??I phoned up and told girl 'no point in telling us the day afterwards (seems someone should have told him last week when it was and didn't) I had small rant about needing appy. pretty damn quick......stress/worry/ etc. not to mention OH's possible conditon.
Bout 2 hours later consultant phoned(yes the white coat man himself -though don't seem to remember him wearing one)!! ''It's good news'' says he going on to say biopsy was clear and the area it was taken from had apparently shrunk !! So, he and his team of 'white coats' all agreed that at the moment no more is needed other than getting 2 weeks antibiotics from GP and him having another appt. and xrays in 2 weeks time as it could be that it was due to an adverse reaction to an infection OH had (pleurosy was mentioned-possibly bit of pneumonia) and further antibiotics would do the trick.
He wants to keep an eye on him so I can see a fair few trips back and forth to the hospital but what the heck................it's nothing like I thought.............:j
Thankyou for all your good wishes, positive thoughts and bless 'em............the card thread ladies wearing anything that had inside out.............well you never know...............lol:rotfl:stranger things happen
Well done for complaining, but that is absolutely amazing, I'm so plzed, bet oh is relieved as well. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
:jHi everyone, I love all the tips in these forums (particularly inspired by this thread and the hamper ones!), but tend to lurk in the background rather than posting!!! However..... I just had to post after reading through this thread tonight (not all of it, that would take a year at least!), everyone is so full of great ideas but also so supportive and friendly!:A Such a contrast to the miserys on the 'worst gifts' thread (bah humbug,,,ungrateful scrooges- though they did make me laugh!!!) So a huge thank you for all the fab tips and getting me well in the Christmas spirit!!!:T
A big welcome to one of the nicest threads on the site, don't lurk, jump in, we don't bite. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
It was the annual late night shopping - we have 4 or 5, I'll only go once. So dragged dad along, personal driver, personal shopper- or as he says general dogs body come bag carrier - he gets his tea brought him!
Was going to be McDonalds for tea, but we ended up in Wetherspoons, can't complain, £12 for the 3 of us.
Into Boots - told DD she could spend £10 on dad, and £10 on mum for surprise presents....
She is such a bee-hive - have to give her 10/10 for effort..
After walking round the xmas ailses (in my case cranking with the crutches), 4 times we walked round, she then decides doesn't want to buy one thing... so she gets mum a cranberry set £6, and a Geisha make up bag (my mums 64), so tell dd that she can choose a 3rd present as its 3 4 2. She pipes up, I know that, why do you think I got the 2 presents......so I can choose the 3rd one for me.......nannys had her £10...... this woman by me, just burst out laughing....
Then we have to go round again looking for dads, I'm suggesting she should spend the £10 on a Whisky set..... no, ok what about Port.....no but I could buy him the Bailey and Chocolate set, I like Baileys... NO... Can I buy him seperate presents..... he can have some smellies ....ok.......she picks up one with shampoo.... that do, get 2 of those then thats the £10 spent and I get another free gift!...... sweetheart dads a bald as a coot..... turned round the same woman was behind me........ in stitches...
This woman then says have you got much shopping to get (thought nosey sod), its just that I nearly wet myself laughing, and I daren't laugh again.
Dad had the Whisky!!
Then in Claires...... mum I need a new scarf, lost the plot by then, town full of groups of teenagers hanging around everywhere, ok, just get a scarf I'll pay..... so she chooses Miss Kitty £9.00
Gets home with all the shopping, mum says wheres ur presents.... I'm lost,..... she'd given dd £10 to get me a surprise xmas prezzie....it apparently slipped dd's mind, as its nice to go shopping with money in her purse.
She is a chip off the old block.!!
Digressing - bargain offer on Boots 17 make up (mid range prices),
if u spend over £6.00 u get a free gift set (full size mascara, deep purple nailpolish and silver eyeshadow).
So our papergirl now has her xmas prezzie..... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Oh Mary, what wonderful news. I am so, so pleased for you and OH.
Em xx0 -
mary am so delighted to hear your news, have been thinking of you over the past few days and so glad that it's nothing sinister. sending you both hugs {{{{}}}}
fed08 welcome to the thread. Watch yourself - I used to be a lurker and now find myself posting more and more - it'll take over your life!!! No, this is a lovely thread, such friendly caring people I love it!!:T
Still feel like I've got far too much to do before Christmas, but hopefully will have a productive weekend. Was looking at our xmas dinner food with DH last night and I think it's going to be quite a bit of work. It's just the 5 of us, and we're having a mix of UK and Venezuelan food, to match up with our family. but one of the venezuelan things is quite complicated to make - usually you do it over a few days with all the family, like a party - but it's just going to be me!!! DH is away every weekend now till xmas. Oh well, I shall stick on my xmas CDs and do them with lots of care and love and enjoy it. just hope they taste OK!
Hope everyone's feeling festive and in the christmas mood.0 -
