Made batch 2 of christmas cakes, - halfway through the hand mixer breaks!!, but I also broke the food processor when I made the tropical cake.

Have to confess we cut one of the tropical cakes - just to sample-

    these are the family comments

Dad - Is it meant to be light, this one could use as a doorstop!!

Mum - Loved it, even had a 2nd piece

Me - It was unusual, the 1st bite was weird, only because it didn't look like a tradational cake, but it was gorgeous.

Bailey - he did self service and scoffed a piece down, then went and sat by the cupboard as if to ask for a 2nd piece.

Overall I'd give it a 9/10, heavy cake, but very fruity, and great tasteing.

Been organised and did a list of all the items that I got for dds xmas fayre as prizes
    inc-
the 3 money books - Big thank you to Martin + the team for donating them
    Gift vouchers supermarkets
    Day out passes
    12 month pass Ironbridge museums

Without adding 4 sets of gifts, the value of all the items come at £400, not bad for my 1st effort on the PTA.

    xx

Cake sounds Fab I want a piece with my COFFEE

Well done on you Xmas Fair prizes the PTA will be chuffed..... just wacth as if you do really well you'll be left doing it every year lol :rotfl: I always got lumbard with making cookies and doind displays for the kids old school after volunteering once and doing a good job.

    Hi everyone!

Mary - I hope you OH is feeling better today.
I too find doing things takes my mind off things eg flying lists, my own lists, christmas lists and takes my mind off the exOH for a while

What was I going to say? Oh yes nipped to Morriblobs yesterday after work to get the buy 1 get 2 free offers on pepsi max (£1.59 for a 2L bottle = 3 x 2L bottles) and pringles (£1.99 for 1 tube = £1.99 for 3 tubes).

Went a bit overboard but that is fizzy pop bought now for Christmas, have put them out of the way in the spare room so I don't start drinking and eating them now!

    Hello all !
Well what a day.............OH woke this morning at 5am coughing up blood.........I rang nhs direct and they said get appt with gp.......may be the aftermath of his endoscopy or an infection. GP thinks infection and given him anti biotics but if he has another night like it he's to go back tomorrow and they'll ring the hospital

Oh my! I hope your hubby had a better night last night Mary!! And that you've caught up on a bit of sleep. How scary! And I think you 'faffing' with Christmas stuff is a great idea - good distraction. You'll drive yourself mad with worry otherwise.

Just been putting together a list of meal choices for our paranormal group's Christmas do! Feel really christmassy now! Yeay!

Hello all - OH had bit better night last night -coughing up blood seems to have stopped. But now it seems like he's got a cold -sore throat, thick head, etc.........and so have I..................
Hospital phoned which was bit worrying - his biopsy from last week came up clear -relief I thought ! Then lady from lung clinic said he had to go for another one......different sort -CT Control (don't really understand it) as they seem to think it shouldn't have come back clear.......... Should get appt. this week or next......hopefully we'll be able to see someone then who can at least tell us something. It's the not knowing thats driving us batty. If he's got something awful it'll mean him going to specialist unit in Nottingham..............
But mustn't cross bridges before they're built.
So-forgive me if I'm not very festive.............only thing I've done today is re-wrap grandaughters birthday stuff (found birthday wrapping paper I bought ages ago) so it was off with the christmas snowflakey paper and on with the funky pink and purple flowers..............lol
Looked at a few things that need final wrapping and couldn't be bothered anymore.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
