    Hi all
OH had another rough night and has gone back to see GP for some stronger painkillers.............seems to think once he's had his scan tomorrow he'll feel better........maybe he will mentally, be one stage further to knowing whats going on. Just hope they don't keep us waiting for the results too long and the 4 days we've been told doesn't turn into a fortnight

Thinking of you both for tomorrow, hope it all goes well and you get the results quickly.

    xx

  • Hello ladies (and gents if there are any) I am feeling SO excited and christmassy today! I think the colder, duller weather is helping that. I love to see all the orange and red leaves flying around my street.

Today i gt a very good deal (well i think so) my mum has always said she would love a barefoot contessta recipe book, so i thought id get her one for christmas, I had a little look on amazon last month and decided i'd get her the Barefoot Contessa at Home: Everyday Recipes You'll Make Over and Over Again which was £35. Today I went on to buy it and saw that it had been reduced £18.66 and i had a £5 voucher from light speed so i only paid £13.66!

I really want to start decluttering, cleaning and organising my home, but i can't seem to get motivated

Went to toys r us yesterday in hopes that they would have brought out some wrapping paper...but no. Does anyone know when they bring them all out?

Well, what a horrible few days I have had - don't know where to start! As you know, my little one was really ill with a sick bug last week, then on saturday my oldest came down with it but she also had a really high temp as well. At one point it was 39.6! Luckily this was the one taken by the doctor as if I had just told the gp that she had a temp of 39.6 he would of probably thought that I had taken it wrong or something. That was really worrying as if it had gotten much higher she would of had to go to hospital so sunday morning I've got her in the bath and I'm sponging her down with luke warm water, Faith is trying to climb into the bath (and is still being very clingy and grizzly from being ill herself) and then hubby starts being sick too! :(
My only saviour was walking down to sainsburys (in the rain) to get some basics as had run out of bread, milk etc to walk in and see a big rack full of xmas magazines!! :j Wish I could of brought them all lol, but managed to resist and just got the one :)
I then woke up monday morning and couldn't get out of bed! I have ME which I have been managing quite well recently but all the stress of the last week and other things going on in my life has just floored me so had the doctor out and he recommended me spending the next 1 - 2 weeks in bed to give my body and brain some time to recover and restore my batteries. So monday afternoon I'm sitting in bed and think 'oh I can pop online and check the mse boards' and my internet had stopped working!
Didn't get it fixed until late this afternoon and it turned out to be the stupid boy in the t-mobile shop hadn't loaded the money on the dongal correctly! :naughty: Anyway, rant over lol! How is everyone else doing?

Ragz - Thanks for Faiths well wishes and good luck wishes for the house. Lol about the tin of chocs :rotfl: I was just as bad as I ate one of the choc oranges that I had brought for the kids stockings!

3cheekyprincesses - Thanks for the good luck wishes for the house. By the way, I'm loving those bin bags! So cute and festive! :xmassmile

Mum2one - Poor you on friday with all your bad luck! ((hugs)) and there must be something about you and fire alarms at the moment what with evans as well lol!
Thanks for Faiths get well wishes and good luck wishes for the house too. :)

I am happy to say that our house seems to be germ free now (touch wood) ;) and hopefully we have now gotten them out the way so we will all be well for xmas!

We're still number one on the list for the house and it closes tomorrow night at midnight - so it's looking good! :D

    Santa Challenge!
Well as most of our things are in storage I can't sort out the bedrooms and cupboards etc until we move which is such a pain as it would have been so good to have gotten it all done now, but can't be helped so have gotten off lightly with this challenge for now.

As for the xmas arrangements I have been through my diary sorting out all the letters I've had from the schools etc and have a jam packed dec with plays, carol concerts, parties and the xmas fair etc..
I've sorted out when I will see most of my friends and family over the festive period apart from my best friend (so I really need to talk to her about that!) We're staying home on xmas day and then visiting family on boxing day.

Phone number list - do you know I'm ashamed to say that I'm 29 years old and I had never thought of this before :o so thank you mum2one! It's lucky I've never needed a doctor or similar over xmas as I don't know what I would of done!

Hamper ideas - chocolate lovers hamper
    movie night
    craft hamper
Theme hamper ie. hannah montana, night garden...
If I think of any more I will post them.

Can I also just say a big thank you to mum2one and everyone else for making me feel so welcome on this thread. :heartsmil I normally just follow threads and never post but I feel so at home here that you can't shut me up lol!

Right, now going to curl up in bed and finish reading my xmas mag! :rudolf:

I hope everyone goes on ok, you need to get a rest, know its hard with the family,

Tmobile dongle, just cancelled my contract and went on pay + go, still got to work out how to get it off the £2 per day!

Were one big family on here and the sister thread, (money neutral - u make the money), we spend it for u!!

    Take care xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Hi everyone,

I'm in need of some inspiration and ideas.
My husband wanted an expensive radio controlled car for Christmas, which I have got him. Because it was a bit more than we normally budget for each other, he has made me promise not to buy him anymore presents.

However, I hate the idea of him not having much to open on Christmas day so I need some creative ideas. I can't break my promise to not BUY him anything, but he didn't say not to MAKE him anything. I've already decided I'll make him a chocolate slab and some rum truffles but I need more suggestions please! Oh, he's having a pot of gold as a table present with dinner too.

Also, if anyone spots any freebies that may be suitable then I'd love to know, as that would technically be allowed ;) I've already ordered the free mini Baileys so hopefully that will arrive as he likes Baileys.

Thank you in advance for any ideas :)

  • Hi all just to let you know that I had an email from 'thebookpeople' saying free next day delivery when you enter post123. And, if memory serves me correctly they deliver by courier anyway so no postal strike delays!

Nickybo i'm not very creative thinking (just copying other people's creative ideas!!) but my hubby did say the most thoughtful gift he ever got was when i printed out guitar song music and made him a file (I was just trying to be organised!!). Is there anything like that that you could 'organise' for him?

Sorry that's probably not much help! Vouchers for 'favours' or favourite dinners/ washing up etc...?
  • Oooh, vouchers - good idea! I could make fancy ones on the computer, thanks :)

On another thread i saw was "100 reasons why i love you". You need a empty jar, 100 pieces of paper and 100 reasons why you love your dh and write one reason on each piece of paper. Fill the jar and he can read 1/2/3 a day.

You could make a CD up of all his fave songs.

A voucher booklet (massage, early night ;), night doing his fave hobby, etc etc)

    A free personalised calendar : http://www.bagsoflove.co.uk/calendars/free-personalised-photo-calendar/

wooo hoooo, payday today. although do have a ten hour shift :(
Am hoping to get a bit of shopping done in my half hour break (because of the extra hours I'm splitting my break into shorter ones) but am thinking that might not happen :(

Not really been up to much christmassy - have the intentions but chances hae come up for extra hours which means by the end of today I'll have done 29 hours this week so far (and I had monday off!!!) but payday for that is in a fortnight so will all be worth it then. Should be finishing off my mumscross-stitch but I know if I do that tired I'll do more harm than good hehe
  • Well so pleased i waited up for the 1/2 price Sainsburys toys sale. Got lots of bits that my children really want so am really pleased! Got lots for £120 with next day delivery and 4% topcashcback too!

More wrapping and sorting to do today.
