Hi mum2one I ordered the cartouche (pendant) from a site called the Egyptian Shop. It stated to expect 3 to 4 weeks for the item as it was made in Egypt and they had to wait for it but I got it within a week so very pleased with that. It was just under £25 inc postage and is supposed to be real silver. It looks lovely and is quite big.

Thats a good price and quick delievery, its weird seeing them completed, as there long, they pretty gd,so will be silver.
As for the challenge I also have got off quite lightly.
You got me, an easy one this time then Nov still to come!!

Kids room - daughters room still looks nice as we have only just finished decorating and she is keeping it nice and tidy
You have 1 in a million, I'm sure you can loan her out x

Sell - have had another look for things to sell on Ebay but am running out until OH can get in the loft and sort that out

Save and recycle - same as above

Food cupboards, fridge and freezer - are all under control and tidy

Christmas dinner - I agree that its only sunday roast with some extra trimmings and OH always cooks it if he is not working which he isnt this year. Will probs do some of it the day before so we can visit my son on Xmas morning.

Christmas arrangements - these are just about done as we are having Xmas at home and going to my Dads on boxing day as the rest of the family go down to stay a few days. Will fit in a day before Xmas to have an early Xmas day with my other daughter and her children then they have their presents on that day. Have tos ee what shifts she is on as she is nursing now.

Emergency list - I have a lot of these numbers already on my phone

Postal strike - only have to post cards and will get them soon and get them written up and stamps on (already got the stamps) then they can be posted early December.

Promotions/offers - dont really need to get much else but always have a look anyway as might find something for next year

Hampers - I just need to make a food hamper for my bro and sil, so far have a bottle of some kind of salad dressing (liked the look of the label lol) and 2 bars of seeds of change chocolate. Just a few points away from getting a £10 Tesco voucher from Free Snaks so will be able to get some more bits with that.

Off to have a look at dvds on the Asda site xx

Dare I say don't spend to much money, don't know what Amazon are like but had an email ealier saying savings pounds...... but being gd! x

Hello, I read some of this thread earlier in the year and read some of you are doing dooyoo points to pay for christmas. I didnt think much of it until my friend told me about it and i started doing reviews, although ive actually only written a small amount!

I wondered if we all posted our dooyoo reviews, if we took the time to once a day click on each others links it would rack up our dooyoo points? What does everyone think? If its ok mine are

as the old saying goes it happens in 3s, this is my fun + games Friday.

What fun and games as the old saying goes it happens in 3s.....

It was PD Friday, so we got cheap travelodge deal, always book family room, usually 1 ngt unless its 10 quid, all bunk up together.

1st - The traffic, instead of 3 hr journey down the M5, 3 hrs from home to lodge, nearly 6 hrs, roadworks + accident got diverted, got Karen in the back "are we nearly there yet", the sat nav babbling turn off....... recalculating...... so we followed the diversion, ended up on M4, M48, M49, then to get back on M5, 1hr to do 1 mile.

2nd - Got to Travelodge, only to be told that the room had been doubled booked + they hadn't got another, they rang Taunton, Exeter, no go... the only rm he had left was disabled, twin rm, so he offered to get 1 z-beds, took it, rang home + said don't come 2ngt unless u want a z-bed, for 1, so he gave me 4 continental breakfasts as an apology, that was worth £18

3rd - the best - watched Simpsons went down to get a BK meal, for back in room, in crash out mode. 2 bites of food the fire alarm goes off, evacuate the room, grabbed me handbag (keys, phone, credit cards, told Karen to grab the laptop), course you can't use the lift, theres us, no shoes just socks, crutches, we were outside for 10 mins, then he said false alarm the engineer in, could be going off all night, but they wouldn't know if it would be a false alarm or not.

    Luckly it was quiet!

Sounds like a good idea for Teachers' presents or similar, might try that, thanks.

This morning we went to a boot fair as my SIL and her husband had a stall. It was a rubbish turn out really, I was dissapointed as I'd been hoping to pick up baby stuff (since I freecycled all mine earlier this year, then got pregnant a month later ). But I did buy (off my SIL lol) a New necklace in its pretty pink box and a set of Bath Tea Bags - xmas pressie for my brother's GF sorted for £5. Ordered brother the free t-shirt for £3.80 so that's theirs done for under a tenner, half what I'd budgeted :T

Very pleased with that, now all presents for mine and DH's family are bought :j

As an added bonus to the day, we were at my parents' when a friend of theirs called asking if I would like some baby stuff they were getting rid of, so I got a great car seat and moses basket for nothing (Had been panicking that we had no where for the baby to sleep when it comes!) as well as some baby clothes and other bits, so I'm very chuffed with that.

Have wrapped a few more presents, need more wrapping paper...

Well everyone, I gave ex OH his birthday pressue today which was a make travelling easier hamper in a laptop bag and a relax at home hamper with bargains bought all summer from Boots, Home Bargains etc and some more luxurious items for home and a retro sweet jar for £3 and he loved them all. He laughed out loud but loved them.

Had to give him the pressie as there was no point me hanging onto them and I had bought them for him anyway.

Thanks for all the tips and advice on here as it saved me about £50 and it went down a storm. Especially all the Home Bargains items! Will be popping back in there for another look for some cheap items for Christmas!

Can anyone suggest a good Christmas themed bedtime story? I want to get the boys a book for their Christmas eve hamper and it would be nice if it had a festive theme. They are 2 and 3 so I'll be reading it (and don't want one that's too long lol!).

my nan brought my mum "twas the night before christmas" and read it every year to her, then when i was born she did it with me (and yes i confess i still make her do it) and i plan to do it when i have kids etc. Its such a lovely story and i used to love calling out the reindeer names and the last line etc :)
