Hello all and thanks for your kind thoughts. OH has had two good nights sleep thank goodness and I slept well last night -he told me I had to...............lol:rotfl:

Today young girl came up to help me clear out the walk in pantry..............she was only here for 2 hours and it took that long even with me helping her........well longer if I'm honest. Not up to Kim and Aggie standards but at least now the stuff in there is in jars so I can see whats there and it's all more 'organised'...........even the veg racks tidy.................lol
OH comes in from seeing his mate -first thing he does is start to rearrange where I've put stuff.............still, he does do the cooking (I'm no Delia..........lol) so I expect he's entitled to 'interfere'.
So, no christmas stuff been done today............was worn out after the pantry...........could never have managed without young girl helping me............well worth paying her and she's back again next week to hoover and mop the floor............bless her:A

Now thats done............think next will be my computer room/den............so much 'stuff' it's unbelievable:eek:

Still, quite pleased with how the days gone...........hope it carries on that way.............:j
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hello everyone!:santa2:

Mum2one - thank you for your kind words ((hugs))

I think some kind of scrapbook/photo album is a really good idea for Tony, so I will have to get my thinking cap on for that :undecided

Not really done much the last few days as my little one has a nasty sick bug _pale_ which came on yesterday morning so have therefore been spending most of my time cleaning up as the poor litlle girl has been sick over 12 times in the last 36 hours!!!

Also have a feeling that we are going to be moving house late nov/early dec so it's going to be a busy run up to xmas! We're currently living in shared temporary housing and there's a whole new system to getting a council house where you have to bid for a house you would like and you get 2 bids a week. We've been here 3 months and no luck as of yet but there has been a house come up this week which is in the ideal location for the kids schools etc and we are currently first on the list so have everything crossed that no one pops up before the closing date of next wed. If we stay top we then get to view it on nov 10th and then I don't know how long it will take to get a move in date. Moving before xmas is really not ideal but we really want that house so here's hoping no one else wants it who is higher up the list then us! :D

Anyway, sorry I'm going on! :o
Hope everyone else is having a good few days :)

Hi everyone, Have very nearly finished my Xmas shopping. Managed to get to town yesterday and get some chocolate coins, they were 97p a bag and bogof in Wilkinsons. Bought 4 bags. Found a nice small red china pot in the charity shop for 25p so came home and put the £50 worth of £2 coins in the bottom and filled it up with chocolate coins. Took 2 bags so have some left over. Have wrapped it in cello and tied some ribbon round. Just need to print out the label.

Also the silver egyptian pendant came yesterday which I ordered for daughter and I managed to get a nice chain for it up the town today for under a tenner (its quite a thick one as the pendant is big).

Have the money for her phone hidden away, just waiting for the cheque to come from Music Magpie as you have to top up £10 when you buy the phone.

Bought her some artist bits and pieces in 99p store earlier - drawing pencils and sketchbook in a pack, pack of different paint brushes and a set of acrylic paints.

Have ordered 4 more dvds from Amazon for OH with a voucher I got from Dooyoo yesterday.

Covered some cheap exercise books for nieces and nephews to go with their pen and ruler with their name on that I did for them and then wrapped them up in cello to look like a special pack.

    Still to get -

the Breaking Dawn book (waiting to see if the price goes down a bit before Xmas) and finish off the quilt for daughter, that will be her finished.

the dvd called The Take (Martina Cole) (waiting for price to go down on this too, has gone down on Play but not on Amazon yet) for OH, that will be him finished too.

Some bits from Tesco for a foody hamper for my bro and sil.

4 chocolate bars for nieces and nephews to go with their stationery.

2 selection boxes for the younger niece and nephew.

Also need some Cards as didnt get any in the sales. Have plenty of stamps though.

Hope everyone ok, and 63 days to go (borrowed from Irish Girl), getting the last bits ready for the next Santas challenge, just a quick question really, I know I started the Santas challenge mid year, and we've worked closely with the sister thread (money neutral), would everyone be happy if we continued the same principle for 2010, I'm happy to keep the challenges for the 24th (christmas eve, santas coming), if thats ok.
    Cheers xx

hello not been around for a couple of weeks

Definitely love the idea of all this. I had wanted to take part fully this year but paperwork has not let me (desperately trying to get caught up and then keep on top of it all). I'm aiming to still do it all but will probably be the last one who will have it all to do in one day lol

Keep up the brilliant work and love this thread

Toddles off to adjust the front page - who ever gets dd, shes so easy choose for. (otherwise I wouldn't of let her join) xx

I have only come on here today and found your pm. I have sent it back straight away hope I haven't missed out. Talk about hard questions I struggled to describe my self

Hope your little girl is feeling better and fingers crossed for you getting your house. Moving house before xmas may not be ideal but at least you'd have your own place for the Christmas so I really hope you get it. Good luck :D

Have just realised I "accidentally" ate (while wrapping xmas pressies last night) the tin of choccies I'd bought for brother and his GF for xmas so I'll now have to replace that or buy them something different  I got them great b'day pressies this year so will only be a token gift anyway, but still...

Went to tesco to pick up some more wrapping paper earlier and they didn't have it out yet, later found out superdrug have loads and I'd walked right past there earlier - was too late to go back - grrrrrrrrr

  • MaryOP - So sorry your having a bad time. I totally understand your frustrations over waiting times etc for XRays and results. We are still waiting for our 18 month old dd EEG and MRI results and for a appointment at great ormond street! The Xrays were done beginining of Septemeber!

Shevs - I love Panto. We saw Joe Pasquale (sp?) in cinderella couple years ago and it was soooooo funny! Saying that i might be glad of the 2 / 3 hours they are out at the Panto to get those last minute jobs done before Christmas. The Panto is book for the 20th Dec so kids on school hols the rest of the week.

Mum2One - Well done for doing your OU exam. I bet the time will fly past for you to get your results with all the Christmas organising going on!

98Dougal - Well done on the promotion.

Elyphant - Dont lurk feel free to join in. We are a friendly bunch X

DJStar80 - My fingers are crossed for you. I hope you get the house.

I have a busy weekend buying loads of bits to finish off presents and hampers. Anyone ideas what to use for a mobie hamper for my 12 yr old DS?? It has to hold a DVD, Big Aero bar, Packet sweets, Can of drink, Popcorn in cardboard popcorn container. Any ideas would be great and something maybe he can use again for storage or something.

I love Christmas movies and we have a whole shelf in our dvd unit dedicated just for the Crimbo movies!!!

Thanks for all the congratulations guys :)

Have had to put everything from my folder into a hardbacked notebook to stop the cat destroying it so that was yesterday's fun. Am popping into work a bit early to hit a charity shop today but need to spend the night tidying as I have a friend crashing tomorrow. Will hopefully get two aunties sets set up and wrapped before Monday (thats the plan anyway) and then they are out of the way.

Last year I bought one of those cardboard make your own telescope type things to go with the name a star but cant remember where from- anyone have any ideas?
Also need the website for the free name a star and name to mars pleeeaaassseeee (computer crashed and all my favourites folders are gone :O dont know what to do now hehe)

Does anyone know whether - when ordering from Tesco Direct and collecting in store - you have to collect the next day? Can you leave it there a few days or will they send your order back?

EDIT - found out for myself, 14 days. That's good, I wanted to order my sons' present before it goes out of stock.
