    Hello:rudolf:

Mumtoone - am I to late for the secret santa? Totally fine if I am to late as I saw on one of your earier posts to let you know by the 20th but just thought that I would ask :snow_grin

Don't be daft. I can always squeeze another one in, xx

I'm also wondering if anyone could help me come up for an idea for my 'kind of' dad? It's a long story but bascially Tony was with my mum when I was 1 years old until I was 5 when she left him for another man. Tony always thought of me as his own daughter what with me being so young when he was with mum so years later he found me and has been a complete star ever since. :D He is amazing and treats me the same as all his other children and classes my girls as his own grandchildren.
The problem is I never know what to buy him for xmas as having never had a dad for most of my life I find it really hard. Also I can't afford to spend loads this year but I want him to know how much I care and respect him. I normally end up getting him the usual smellies and chocs etc but he has been such a rock for me this year I really want to get him something extra nice if you get what I mean  Any ideas would be most welcome!
He sounds an amazing guy, and ur a lovely lady as well x

Anyway, I'm now off to get the little one in bed and then i'm going to spend the evening updating my xmas notebook while hubby watches the football and the other 2 do their homework!

Football........ you should have him wrapping presents, with football as the incentive!!

Just a thought re Tony, he sounds a lovely guy, and you sound a lovely lady, just a thought, with you saying ur like a daughter, and his other children, don't know how pratical it is, (bet ur come back with one lives in Australia!!), can you get together and get one of the hubbies to take a family shot, and maybe one of the grandchildren.

Plan B - on same lines - but easier, can you get some photos of all you, sperate or together and make a little photo album,

or on the lines of a calender, (I'll hunt it out I've got a cheapie offer from Vistaprint for desk top calenders, one free or pay for one and have 4 free).

It doesn't have to be an expensive present its from the heart that counts, and sometimes the smallest thing is just that.

Is there a hobby hes got, a passion, take my dad he loves anything Spaniel related, (the expensive end - Nigel Hemming Prints, the dog statues), but a couple of years ago, I came across a 10x8 print, put it off dd, and he loved it. xx

A massive thank you to the everyone with their answers, there absolutely brilliant, a mini snapshot of you,.
We have a new addition DD, she has decided as she is picking the names she wants a go, bless her, she even got her purse out, (miracle shes only normally has it open to collect money), so given her an Argos voucher we had the freebie from the spends.
Toddles off to adjust the front page - who ever gets dd, shes so easy choose for. (otherwise I wouldn't of let her join) xx

Yes 2010, I know we haven't had this xmas yet, but if everyones happy (we are), we're keep the same formula for 2010.

Put a reply on the other thread, as Jamtart starting the money thread on 1st Jan, said we'd start ours 1st Jan as well, same titles just change the date.

Santas Challenge 2010 - thats so weird writing it.

A massive massive thank-you to everyone, as without you all this thread wouldn't of worked, or lasted, were a great bunch of ladies (don't know if we have any men), and (I'm being soppy), but although a lot of us have never met, we could walk past each other in the street and never know, but we all help each other out, we do everything we can for each other, and to me that is absolutely priceless.

We're the ones who do the xmas shopping, the planning, the budgets, the wrapping, working hard all year round for 1 day, and that was what got me onto the santas present idea, as we deserve a little thank you (even thou we got the money ourselves), its for us.

    xxxxxx

mum2one - you've been so busy by the sound of it and well done taking your OU exam.............:T

Well, three more robins breakfasts done (only spilt the bird seed over the kitchen table once...........:rotfl:) I was so tired. Didn't sleep so well last night.........OH's had a few rough nights........last night he slep ok but I kept waking up to make sure he was.............how daft is that !! Hence I got up n****ered !!!
Had every intention of clearing out the pantry but to be honest just couldn't face it.............so, sitting down fiddling with flower pots was the easier option. I've done six now so think that'll do for this year............must do myself a timetable of 'stuff to do' -wrapping up grandsons pressies(the 16 year old), foster daughter need sorted and wrapping and foster lad who used to be here aways gets a box of bits...........need to sort his out.
They're all there, I know what they are and who's having what now -just a case of finishing it all off..................but not today...........dear me no....................lol (yawn -yawn.........)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
