lol, go away for a couple of months and a hundred pages to catch up on! :O
Not been on much since I started my job- been getting back into the swing of it.
Got another couple finished and am going to start wrapping and arranging etc tonight and getting them out of the way so that my new kitten will resist the urge to 'help' with it all.
Charity shopping yesterday and managed to get a jamie oliver flavour shaker for 75p!!!! was well chuffed. Not sure its going to work in a boys night out kit though (decided that since he always gets something involving cooking we would do it a bit different this year hehe)
nehoo going to try and get some shopping in before work

Finally found a present for difficult FIL!
He's into motorbikes so I got him a little wooden build you own bike kit off ebay. He was the last on my list so I THINK that's me finished!

No, I was wrong. Still got BIL to buy for, he's also difficult. What do you buy a recovering heroin addict?
Anything I think of seems tasteless (I have a wierd sense of humour!).
Oooh, maybe I'll get him a diary... he's doing a lot of voluntary work at the moment so a nice diary would probably come in useful... hmmm
Santas challenge is sounding fun, can't wait to start choosing, any excuse to go through the Argos catalogue lol!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi all, all I can say is Thank Goodness for this thread and for organizedchristmas.com as if I didn't have enough to do!!! my daughter broke her arm on sunday, at a soft play place of all places...she dislocated her elbow and it was so bad had to go to theatre to get it put back into place...the doctor said he would try and click it back into place, or do that and have to pin it...failing that he would have to open the arm up and put the bone back in with the naked eye...thank god above and the surgeon down below the first option worked and my precious baby girl is in a full arm bandage...off school for a while...and here's me with baby coming in 3 weeks time...glad i'm organised, really need to tie up any last bits to be done this week, so glad I'd been doing the grand plan for cleaning cos she is keeping me very busy...
so the plan is get the last shopping done online, make lists in diary of anything that can't be bought til after the baby comes, then do some wrapping this week while dd is asleep.
Glad we've got christmas to look forward to - am going to make it a restful lovely family time, times like this make you reassess the important things in life...doesn't it :-)0 -
Morning all.
Welcome DJStar80 to the thread. If you need any ideas or help just give us a shout. There are some lovely people on here with so many ideas. Also if funds are tight for you this year have you had a look at the thrifty money making thread. There is lots of info on there of ways of making extra money and vouchers which all help towards the cost of Christmas and pressies.
Mary - sending you and your dh big cyber hugs and hope he is feeling better soon. I hope you have a great day having your hair done. I love getting mine cut its give you a instant feel good boost.
Shevs - I am booking panto tickets on friday! Cant wait! I have a 18 month old dd tho so i dont think she will be able to go as not sure she will sit there long enough so either myself or dh will miss out to look after her whilst the other one goes with our other children! I think we will have to throw a coin.
Scattymam1 - I hope your little one feels better soon. Bless her what a horrible thing to have happen. How old is she?
I cannot wait for the next santas challenge. Saying that i havent got any batteries yet for my christmas day pack! I think i will have to clear out the PoundShop for their batteries. Does anyone else know where to get cheap batteries from?
Well had a phonecall at 10am from the school to say my 9yr old had shut her finger in a door and had passed out and been sick. Went and picked her up (luckily i live 2 min walk from the school) and she is now snuggled up on the sofa watching Grease 2 film! (she is like me and loves girly films). She seems ok now and can move her finger but it is swollen a little and she cut the skin from the bottom of her nail down to the knuckle. I dont think she needs stitches but should i try get a doctors appointment?
I have reserved a few bits on Argos to pick up tomorrow as they have some of their high school musical bits on sale and also the Girl Tech secret password journal that my 9yr old really wants for christmas!
Hope you all have a good day!Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -
We have decided against the panto this year, but have booked to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in February instead! I watched Love Actually last night, and felt really Christmassy - back down to earth with a bang today, all bunged up and feeling sick, hope I'm not getting the bug - need to go Christmas shopping on Saturday.....Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j

(i've put red jelly beans and black jelly beans in my 'Watching' folder on EBAY)
Also have decided I am going to do a 'Tin of Coal', using the same principals as the 'Reindeer Spares' hence the black jelly beans:D
I had loads of gold tinsel (brought in sales) but do you think i can find it?? Can i heck!!! Bet mum's put it in with the Christmas Decorations:rolleyes:
My tesco's transaction still hasn't tracked through quidco:mad: have to wait a week before I can enquire about it.

xxxxxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -
Hi all
scattymam - sorry to hear about your daughter (((hugs))
Just popping on here prior to running down the road to the hairdressers.........(oh eck did I say running ???)
Was going to clear out the pantry this morning (much needed) but then chap from tele shop was due to come and see about a new tv ariel..........thought it best he didn't see the c**p that would emerge from our pantry (aptly sporting a notice on the door saying 'pigsty'...........lol) Well, tele man didn't show in the end and I spent the morning making three of those 'soft trees' -there's a thread on here about them. Had some freebie natural colour fabric and some stuffing going spare so just hoping now OH likes them:rolleyes:
Then I stuck my gingerbread men tags onto some card so they're thick enough to hang across the pine dresser....................all this while sitting on my bum !!!............:rotfl:
Tomorrow will now be 'clear out pantry' day............and clear desk and anything else that gets in my way...........I think.............:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
