    Xmas Saver!

mum2one, it was OH who wants a £100 phone lol, he was saying that if I can buy her one then I can buy him one too. The orange vegas one is for my daughter and its £39.99. As you say I am not paying out a lot in case it goes missing again. I wouldnt have bought the last one it was OH who thought it a good idea for her birthday.

The pot of gold is for him with the £50 in as I cant afford to give him £100. Then he can choose his own phone and put the rest to it after Xmas.

Trust me..... typical man, bet he'll have the surprise with the £2 coins, gd for you, you've saved the £2, he can save the rest!!!

Do like the look of the Vegas, I like the look of the touch screen. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

OMG have been without the laptop all day, it died on me this morning  have had it running a recovery thinging all day and it's just come back on:j. At least I've been able to do all my jobs though lol:o as not coming on here and getting sidetracked;).

Love the pot of gold idea for the phone, might pinch that off you as OH is mithering for a new phone.

Well my cases are packed, Dongals in the bag, kids are bathed and lying in bed watching tv, and the dog has gone to the kennels, we are so missing her, felt awful dropping her off, thought i was gonna cry, until she ran off playing with the other dogs outside.

Right I'm going to have a glass of wine and a quick catch up on emails etc then watch some tv, catch up with you all in the week as i will have the lappy with me.

Ive wrapped some presents today so am feeling very festive. Ive lit some mulled wine candles and put some music on and had a nice afternoon.
I started to make some pots of gold but have realised I hadnt bought my scratchees for them so will have to get them tomorrow and then cellophane them tomorrow.

Bought OHs birthday present yesterday from buy it here. Got guitar hero 3 and guitar for the wii for £29 it said box was damaged but I know OH wont care about that. Would have preferred it for xbox really as he plays on that more but concepts the same isnt it!

Had a quick look at my "left to buy" list and was pleased to see that there is hardly anyone left to buy for. Mainly just assembling bits together to form the hampers.

    Yay!!!

I have been trying to think of something for my daughter for christmas as we were giving her money for a phone and this is ideal, thankyou.

One thing......*creeping* I have another daughter who we are giving money towards driving lessons..I've sat here and thought how to adapt the end of your poem but I'm just not clever enough :( ....any ideas?
  • Hi everyone, Im new to this site and indeed to forums in general, Ive never posted anything before so I hope Im doing this right! Ive spent every spare minute Ive had over the last few weeks reading all 136 pages of this post! In fact most of the minutes have not actually been spare and should have been spent doing more worthy but boring tasks such as housework. I absolutely love Christmas but am not allowed to talk about it with any of my non-Christmas loving friends till at least mid-November so I am glad to see that I am not alone in enjoying thinking about it and preparing for it a lot earlier then that!

Sallys savings how about this ending?

I give to you this pot of gold
Before you open do as told
Make a wish and you may find
Not all coins are chocolate kind
They are to help you while you strive
To hit the roads and learn to drive

    Hi lunar sea,

welcome to the thread, glad you found us, your certainly posting right :D and i LOVE the poem :T
I was scanning quidco earlier just flicking through to see if any good sites were on there that weren't in my favourites and came across this website: http://www.stocking-fillers.co.uk/?aid=web01
Inside most things are cheap and some are best for party bags for kids etc but i have found a few really good finds on there and its mostly cheaper than the other gadgets and unusual gift websites out there!
Have to admit i haven't ordered from them yet so I don't know how good they are etc but i will be soon so fingers crossed :D

I was asking about digital photo frames on here not so long back and put there were some on amazon.........not sure whether I need to get just the photo frame or one with a memory thingy to go with it  It's for eldest son -he's got computer, digital camera and all that stuff so do I need the memory thingy ?

Mary - it wouldn't hurt getting an SD card to go with the digital photoframe. CHeck to see which type of card it takes, but I'd be surprised if it ISN'T SD, and you can get a good sized one for a fiver on Amazon. The digital photoframe I got for my Nan has an internal memory too but holds a tiny amount of photos, so you're better off getting a seperate card. Plus, he might already have an SD card or three, but he probably has a use for them already - if you buy one to go woth the frame, he can just load it up with pictures, pop it in, and not worry about wanting to use the card for anything else. Hope that helps?

    Have a fab holiday Sarah!

Welcome Lunar (and anyone else I may have missed!!) !
