mum2one - used to have a real DIY neighbour but he left his wife two years ago...........few single mums about but no-one else I know well enough to ask........was going to phone foster daughters son, he's quite handy, but OH had a fit about it. Says he feels inadequate enough as it is not being able to do things without dragging other people into it. Typical stubborn bloke !
It'll get sorted when the plumber comes tomorrow (thank goodness we're not on a water meter !) We'll just have a running tap till then.
Wouldn't know where to look for the one near the mains -silly really cos its something we really ought to know about. Must remember to ask plumber tomorrow -bet he'll know then I'll make a note of it. (Memo to self- really must sort out household folder !)
    Thanks for the suggestion anyway...............:o
Now I'm going to sit of the sofa in the other room so I can't hear this wretched waterfall..................lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Our mains stopcock outside the house is actually out side on next door property and is connected to 4 house so if our stopcock doesn't work then we have to chat to all the people down the road!!

Hope the plumber is round nice and early tomorrow.

Not got much organised but had a thought for my DS . He wants a pressie from his Auntie to mind him of her (she died three years ago) I am thinking of doing a photo of her and little poem about heaven. Nothing too deep though. Think it will be nicer for him than me saying her is a toy to remind you of your Auntie.

Was also thinking of doing a card box for my mum as I know she always send out loads over the year.

  • Hello all

Well had a look in Morrisons today and got a couple of lovely seagrass type baskets with lids for £1.99 each. Also got a box of family circel biscuits for £2.49 i think they were at half price. Put them away for Christmas.

Also saw on the grabbit bit of the forum that Novembers edition of Bliss magazie which is out now has a free TWILIGHT bag. Its either Edward or Jacob. magazine is £2. somthing. I am going to get one as my dd is a massive Twilight fan so will make a good stocking filler..

Water running I'd be doing the running to the loo and back all ngt! ah if your in a terrace gd chance ur stopcock could cover more than one house.

I've had the location drilled into me of ours, one yr when we went on holiday some tank in the loft went boobs up and was pouring water, luckly it was coming out of the overflow, then the stopcock in the house, was stuck, so for safety it was turn the stopcock off, were semi-detached, luckly it was just ours. We did eventually get round to having the stopcock fixed inside.

Its so weird, but its a macho thing, the woman should never need to know anything, remember at school part of an exam was to wire a plug, I swopped with another girl she did my plug, I did the write up for her!!

Any news yet re hubbys scan,? xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Ladies, is it possible if you could check the list, if I have missed anyone off or put you down by mistake could you send me a pm.

Just that from next week, getting the secret santa sorted, (done it as a list, as plan be - have it a spreadsheet my end - this remind me how need to do it).

    1. I'll pm everyone with a few questions, (everyone get the same questions),

    2. if you could then pm me back, with ur answers, then once everyones back in.

3.DD will do her magic and pick out of the hat, who's 'choosing' for who,

4.then I will pm u, ur partners name +their answers

    5. Have fun with the argos catalogue / online, choose 3 sets of presents

    6. Pm me back with the answers, I'll then pm that person - from there, they're pass it to a lovely friend, who will get the final choice. - that be part of Nov's Secret Santa

The plan is between next week and 23rd Nov - get all swopping etc done, so as part of Novembers Secret santa, I can then send everyone their magic catalogue numbers.

Any probs give me a shout.

Apologies if it sounds long winded, promise it isn't, and done it this way as the middle man (or lady in my case), so its a true Secret santa, you don't whos choose ur prezzies.

Another busy day ahead for me today, still got lots of organising to do and loads of job, plus into school at 1 oclock to help out in ds2 class, were going to be making vegatable soup.

Still not packed our suitcases for next week:o really must get a move on or i will be doing it on monday morning. Got to nip out and pay some bills that need paying next week while we are away and see if i can get some more christmas sacks out of homebargins, also want some more christmas confettie for my cards and the kids cards.

We were invited to a halloween party last night at friends and told it was fancy dress for kids and adults:eek: as it's ds2 birthday on halloween and the party is the same day we will be out during the day so need to think of something that will be easy to dress into later in the evening while we are out. dont fancy walking round all day dressed up lol even if it is halloween... thinking gomez and mortisha adams easy for OH as he just needs his suit on, which is suitable for all day and if i just dress in black then add the finishing touches later:confused:
