Thanks Mary X
Well i am having a realxing day at home today as my dd's have the day off school due to teacher training so am going to play some games with them, go thru their toys and anything they havent played with for 6 months is going to the charity shop (i do this every year near Christmas to make space for more toys plus it helps a charity out. Saying that i might see if there is a womans refuge around here who could benefit from toys) then this afternoon snuggle up and watch Coraline with them. My 6 yr old cant wait to use the 3d glasses the dvd came with!Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -
Know that revising feeling I've got an exam on Tuesday, my 1st exam in 21 years.......... what are you studying? I'm aiming for a BAHons Business with the Open Uni
Im studying to be a Reflexologist, the practical Im fine with its just all the systems of the body that Im really needing to focus on! Yours sounds very hard going! I wish you all the best with that. Im finding it hard to concentrate with all the xmas ideas and whatnot in my head!
Someone asked about Pomanders - I find I get used to the smell quickly, but if you go outside then you can smell it when you come in lol I dont find the smell overpowering. Basically I get a few good sized oranges and stud cloves into them in a nice pattern! If Ive got hold of some ribbon I'll decorate with that also. I was thinking of using some cinnamon oil also this year, failing that Ive got a well stocked spice cupboard and cinnamon pieces so I might try and figure something out with that! The only thing that gets a bit much after a while is sore fingers from pointy cloves! I use a skewer to make the holes first so its not so bad.
Ive got my mums present sorted now, and my dads and my sister so I'll prob just get a few token things to go with them. My brother is 22 and Im stumped at what to buy him! Hes recently got into golf so maybe something along that route. And my grandad! He usually gets a bottle of famous grouse but I wouldnt mind giving him a little something else with that. Any ideas?
Hope you all have a productive day, Im off looking for a recipe to make a Christmas spray! Im also VERY excited having read the Xmas hamper ideas!! :j0 -

Thought I would have a look back on Amazon to see if the 4th book has come out yet in the red edge and saw the other 3 books are now selling at silly prices some over a £100 lol. Checked on Ebay and they are selling on there for quite a bit, not as much as on Amazon but still for over £20 a book. I was tempted to list the books and sell them and get her the normal ones instead as she wouldnt know any different lol but after about 30 seconds of thinking this I decided to stick with giving her the special editions seeing she is so special anyway. May be I will get her the normal ones too so she can put the red edged ones away and not get them tattered.
I got it as a free replacement from Amazon

I wish I had known you wanted the 4th book - it isn't the red edged one but I've got a brand new one for sale on eBay  I could have sent it you for nothing but its got bids on it now

Oh never mind Jammy. Thanks for the offer, thats so nice of you. I was holding out to see if they brought the 4th one out with the red edge but doesnt look like they have, not over here anyway. I have ordered the first three again with normal pages and am going to cover a shoe box with black paper and stick some twilight pics on it and put the red edge ones in there and tell her to keep them spotless as they may be worth something in years to come. Might get some black tissue paper too to go inside the box to make it look more special.
The 4th book is selling for about £7 on Amazon at the moment. Will keep a look out to see what its going for anywhere else.0 -
