Thanks mum2one and everyone for explaining that. I knew it was so much simpler than I was thinking(I don't do well with lots of info all at the same time). For now I'll do the dividers and the easy lists I know, ie what presents I have already and a Birthday list etc. by the 24th August add things to the folder as we go along and hang on for a note from jamtart6 in the meantime re her no doubt brilliant plan.
I'm so looking forward to being organised:j
Freezer's defrosting, and I'm still cleaning the cupboard and the hall. I've started doing my own version of a flylady type cleaning routine every day so I'm hoping they'll be no mass clean up before Christmas this year.
I'm looking forward to my treat and I'm going to watch jingle all the way. It's all quite exciting.
Sylphraven, I hope your little one is an the mend very soon.

I will also sort out my folder and dividers

Wow what a busy lot you are!!

I have talked to hubby about defrosting freezers but can't do it very easily as they are both so full!! Plan is to take a stock of what is in there then meal plan to use it all up which will save some money I hope!!! Then I can defrost them!
Actually there are quite a few profiteroles in there so they will go down well!!

I am loving having challenges on her to keep me organised and motivated.

I have used a small handbag sized book this year for all my presents for birthdays and Christmas so have been pretty good and that has worked really well. I will transfer these lists to a paper page and stick it in the folder so I can remember what I gave who in future years!! Will try and find the last few years lists too.

I like the idea of a Christmas folder and have quite a few bits to go in it but I am not sure if a general one will work for me with all those headings etc etc . I think I will keep some things seperate or even not in a folder prob continue to keep lots of info on the pc as this works fairly well and is paper free so I can't lose them, burn them, shred them eat them etc etc!!!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone does though!!

You are a busy lot.............(hangs head in shame)
Have to admit to having a freezer that looks more of a challenge than mount everest..........think I'll pass the pick axe to OH for that. As for what might be lurking in there I dread to think.

Good to see you all here..............and being so organised !

Well, I'm not doing so bad -since being off line for so long, snowmen are done ready to be filled with snowballs (sweets), christmas cards made and written, shoe boxes covered -still more to do...........and even got fairly organised piles of 'stuff' on the spare bed...............lol

Keep it up................just don't expect me to do a cooking challenge..............I'm a disaster in the kitchen!
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

hiya all

well ive tidied my frost free freezer and moved the bits from the small freezer into it and have unplugged the little freezer to defrost, I may finish this challenge by Xmas as I honestly think thats how long the freezer will take to defrost (hangs head in shame)
On a more positive note I've picked my xmas movie (Deck the Halls) and Im going to go have an early night with my bar of choc tonight

Am sitting swamped by lists so really need to organise those before the hubby thinks its recycling and chucks it out

bye 4 now

Hi All,
Since the thrifty threads are so flippin' fab and everyone is so excited with talk of sheets, folders and giftys, I thought "why not have somewhere for people to exchange documents" and really good ideas that you want as a reference point (rather than trawling through pages of festive natter!- which is brilliant by the way!! :D:T)

So, I unveil the Thrifty Gifty Blog! http://thriftygifty.blogspot.com/ - a great reference point with links to the important posts on here (see Quick Links on the side bar), links to other ideas, anddocuments to download.

Anyone can be an "author" and write posts on there, you just need to have a blogger account, and e-mail the blog at thriftygifty@hotmail.co.uk for me to add you. It is not my blog, it is our blog :D

However, to get us started, I have amended my spreadsheet, and made it hopefully user-friendly and added it on there for you to download. I HAVE tested it and it downloads fine for me (see instructions on blog) BUT I don't know if that is because I have a scribd account. Sooooo if someone could "beta" test it for me and see if it downloads OK I would be much obliged.

I hope you like this idea and would like to hear of anything else that you think would be useful to have on there (I am going to add a list of linked review sites and cashback sites for people to get to quickly too).

And I found a fab idea for gifts this morning and put a link on there too. It is for home made candles in jars ! They are gorgeous!!!

Ok guys, well hope you like it :D:A

PS - And just to be uber-cool - we also can "tweet" via twitter and it updates on the blog. Super cute!

ETA - I was going to suggest we could design our own download sheets, sheets similar to those at organisedchristmas but a UK version, but I have noted a lot of people already download them from organised, so maybe not such a good idea.

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A
