Nicky - your mums book sounds lovely..........where did you get the bead letters from ? Or did you create them yourself ?

I think this set of letter beads I got from the £1 shop ages ago, but I know Early Learning Centre used to sell them in the arts section. I usually find them cheaper in kids sections of shops than in the actual card making/craft shops.
I think The Range sell them too if you have one near :)

Nicky - we're only a small market town......shops very limited. Craft shop doesn't have much variety and little sewing shop seems to have more but nothing like that. Have got a toy shop opened.........wonder if they have anything. I always look at kids craft stuff.........often there's quite a choice.
Anything like Poundland is 20 miles away.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Picked up my xmas choccies today, a tin of roses, and a tin of quality street from tesco on bogof for £10. Asda & Sainsburys have also got their choccy tins in for £5 each. The one time we'll have on xmas eve when the kiddies go to bed, the other will be saved as an emergency present or for when guests pop over. Sainsburys have also got after eights for half price, but I've already opened them (oops, lol)

Also bought some mulled wine airfreshener, I buy it every year & put them in on Dec 1st - its smells like christmas to me then.

I've found some alphabet beads on Ebay, here's an example that is very similar to the set I've used:

    1. I've helped 3 different charities raise in total around £40,000 by organising and running overnight spooky events for them. That is an amazing achevment, you must be so pround.
    2. Learn to sing (properly, not just in the shower!!) and go on a cake decorating course!!
Can't help re singing, but have you got a local college you can do a cake decorating course, should make it a new years resolution.
I'd love to see Macchu Picchu too - by the way, my cousin went there earlier in the year and it's rumourded that they're going to close it as visitors are causing too much damage!!

Shevs - the course you did sounds perfect, except it's so far away from me!! I'm in South Wales! Ho hum....

sarah191979 - That's great, thanks for the recipes! Have you tried it any of them??

Mum2one - you ever been to Kenya in the end?? WELL worth the money!!! No, my dd put pays to that, wouldn't swop her for the world.
Thou she has got her mums itchy feet, but after Tunisia, she has "informed the family", that she will only stay in 4 star or above hotels, must be all inclusive!
Wants to go to Las Vegas and see the Grand Canyon, Cuba (but I'm hopeing to sneak that one bymyself.
Mexico - if that haven't got the that silly flu bug.

I think I may have a travel diva, or a damm good critic!.

Wii - THe Wii normally only comes with one controller, so I'd get a second.
    Thank you thats brilliant.
However, they can be £30 but if you buy the game called Wii Play (brilliant game that helps complete newbies get to grips with the power of the Wii remotes!) it comes witha wii remote and is still only about £30. Other than that, I wouldn't bother with any other accessorries - it really depends on the games you end up getting. The numchucks might be worth getting at some point....
    Wii play on the list.

    So far -
Got 2 x steering wheels (compatible £2.99 each)
Family Ski game (reduced from £35 to £13)
Twin remote docking station (got that for £9.99 instead of £19.99 as I'd brought the ski game).

    To get_
    Wii Play
    Numchecks

scattymam1 & ragz - wish my nesting instinct would kick in!! lol I'm awful at tidying normally.....

Christmas shopping is coming along nicely. I hope to get two £20 vouchers from dooyoo in the next month or so, so that will pay for the majority of my Nan's pressie (digital photo frame) and also will transfer the other into a £20 voucher for my friend and her son to share in a movie hamper (they like their films, so can't risk getting a film they haven't already got!! lol). Hubby is on dooyoo too and he's planning on using his vouchers on christmas shopping too. Plus we're continuously ordering the odd thing here and there so it's coming along! (As Annie and Clarabel would say to Thomas...)
Know that dooyoo feeling, hopeing to get the remaining half for the wii.

Had a productive weekend too. Cross stitched almost all of one card for Christmas - it's a christmassy-fied picture of Guybrush Threepwood (of the Monkey Island computer game fame). Going to do 3 I hope, one for my Bro and his girlfriend, one for my parents, and one for a friend. Really pleased though as I kind of made it up based on pictures and me playing with graph paper!!
    You had a busy weekend
Oooo and got excited lunchtime - Aldi have mince pies, Chrsitmas puddings, Christmas cakes, shortbread and Stolen in! I don't like stolen normally but last year they had mini ones, and they were gorgeous!! Nice and moist - I find the larger ones normally too dry! So I'm keeping my beady eyes out....

    Clare x

Aldi is now on my shopping list, love mince pies.
Hope they've got the mini stollen and mini xmas puds, put them in the food hampers for xmas.

Even poundland starting to get xmas things in,
Noticed in Morrisons there clearing shelves ready, so it was a case of hunt the quavers....
    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I'm at home this christmas so the only thing I have to worry about food wise is to make sure my mum and dad pick up everything I want :D. My fave thing to have is a warmed up mince pie with squirty cream on top, yum yum. Or chocolate yule log with load of double cream, mmmmm heaven but I am only alloud that from christmas eve onwards (some rule my mum and dad had when me and bro and sis were kids and we all still carry it on now). Oooooooo 14 weeks to go on Friday!!!!!

Oh and the manchester christmas market opens on the 18th of November through to the 21st December

    xXx

Me and oh always have a day there in december and eat and drink our way around the whole day. I love it when I worked in town I was there everyday on my dinners. Oh god im so excited, its my birthday next week and I am not in the least bit excited about it because I can only think of christmas
  • One of my local boots had almost finishing putting their christmas stock on the shelves yesterday, and the other should be doing it today. As I've already planned what to get everyone now I doubt I'll be getting anything from them except a pair of slippers for ds2, unless they get some more dr who, timmy time or thomas the tank engine stock in. I always like to look though to get ideas for next year and what to grab in the sales :)

Am off foraging today soon as the housework (sorry for swearing) is done for hawthorn berries and rose hips if they are ready, shall stop off at the inlaws to grab a drink along the way.
