I made a start on wrapping pressies last night - OH just looked at me as if I was mad! I doubled my Tesco vouchers a while back and bought toys for my 2 DDs' Santa sack so am well on my way with their presents. Elder DD wants a Wii so the Santa sack will be have to be a bit smaller this year!

I bought Steve Wright's Factoids for 99p at the Works for my brother's hamper and one of the facts says 'A woman spends an average of 13 whole days preparing for Christmas'. Hmmm. That must make us all above average! :rotfl:

Sammy, good luck with your cross stitch and I'm glad you have projects to keep you occupied at the moment and people there for you. Do you normally make your own cards for Christmas?.

elyphant and lauhen - why don't you join in? You're very welcome.

Again, Sammy, I'm thinking of you - if you want to talk please PM me.

The website I was thinking of yesterday was www.buyithere.co.uk - 36m wrapping paper for £11, and I added a DVD and a CD for myself to make the delivery free. There'll be 6 of us for Christmas, so I wanted to have everyone's gifts in a different kind of paper to minimise the labels I was using.

Also, here's a laptop bag for 90% off from the Grabbit board if anyone's considering one as a gift.

And if anyone's buying vouchers, Clinton's Cards are selling two £15 iTunes vouchers for £20.

Went to the F Hinds Jewellers this morning to see if I could get OH a nice tie pin for our 10th anniversary in October. Had seen some on Ebay, the chrome or gold plate ones were about 10 to 20 quid and the 9ct gold ones were about £125. I wanted something in the middle, not too expensive but not just a cheap one.

Looked in the window and saw a plain 9ct gold one for just £45 so thought brilliant, and went to have a look. Noticed a few really small scratches on the surface but dont really show unless you look for them but asked the lady if they had another one the same. She said they could order me one but as the price of gold has gone up it would cost more so I asked her to get me a price first and if it was too dear I would have the one I had seen.

Well she came back from the phone and said they dont sell these ones anymore as they are old stock and it has now been reduced to half price. I couldn't believe it, was really happy. She girft wrapped ti for me and put it in a nice gold cardboard bag thing too and it only cost £24 for 9ct gold tie pin.

OH will be well happy with it and so am I for the price. Means I will have some money left over to use towards materials for my Quilting course which starts in September.

Not sure what I need yet but am going on Friday to the shop where they do the lessons to find out.
