My opinion is on Standard delivery, not any other service with Royal Mail. Clear enough I would have thought.

I've never seen the abbreviation 'SD' applied to 'Standard Delivery' before.
Looking at your posts then perhaps you work for Royal Mail? Thats fine if you wish to defend it but this is simply my opinion from past experiences with items never arriving only to be found lying around the sorting office weeks later, numerous items "lost in the post" etc.

I believe custardy's signature says 'ex postie'.

All the items I've ordered from Amazon have arrived well before the estimated delivery date for the free service and have always been delivered by Royal Mail.
    Nothing has ever gone missing.

That's just my experience and I do appreciate that you may get different quality of postpersons in different parts of the country.

I don't think the above is simple at all.
In fact, I can't even understand what you're trying to say to whom about what.

Neither have I, SD = Special Delivery every other time I've seen SD mentioned.

I took advantage of the 30 day trial. Was well worth it as I buy a lot from there, and it was great to get next day delivery. I made loads of electronic reminders/alarms so I didn't forget to cancel.

I have had £47 pounds taken from my account. Never even heard of this service. I read everything carefully so I don't know how on earth I could have signed up for anything. I'm fuming and will make sure that I remove my card details from them and won't use Amazon again.
i am with you on this , i have been trading with amazon for a couple of years with no problems and for them to put something in that can catch you out real easy is not good custom relations and i can do without this , so i will be closing my account with amazon to and move on to some one that i dont need to watch out for littel traps to get my money ,,, cheers ronnie

What little tricks? They make it so clear that there will be a charge.

The colours are not mine, this is how it actually appears on screen.

Just how much clearer do you need it to be? Especially THIS bit:

It's not a 'little trap to get your money' at all, it's something that people actually have to opt in for.

Basically, some people just can't be bothered to read what's in front of them.

I'm all for bashing big businesses when they operate sharp practice policies but in this case, Amazon aren't guilty.
  • have you gave it any thought why they give you 1 month free ? ,,, could it be that we live in a busy world and they prey on that ,,, why dont they just offer this service straight off the bat because no would then forget to cancel would they,, all i wanted was to pay for my stuff and get on with more important things not read lots about postage ,,, and ya right it is clear but its not for me ,,, keep it basic lol
