Which browser should i use?

im about to get a dell pc running with vista would it be a good idea to swap my browser from the internet explorer default to another option people mention google chrome and firefox and would there be any draw backs from leaving internet explorer seeing im using a microsoft operating system or would adding google toolbar…

Quite relieved, the last site I use that needed firefox has sorted itself out for chrome now - so I only need chrome and IE installed (need IE for work apps).
